Educational toys for children up to a year
In the first weeks of life, the baby does not need toys - his main occupation is eating and sleeping. After the first month, the baby's best companion will be small, bright rattles, as well as silicone rings and all kinds of teethers. After three months, the child will be able to hold and taste them. In addition, insert various (safe) objects into the baby's hand, since now any new thing helps him develop and learn the world around him. At the same age, the so-called "crumbs" are popular - soft toys with plastic, silicone and rustling parts that are interesting to touch and gnaw.
It's important to know:choose toys that have a corresponding ascending mark (for example, "+0" means that the toy can be used from birth, and "+3" only from the age of three).
After six months, the baby will be interested in musical toys, for example, play centers, phones, tablets with songs. Such a technique for children develops logical thinking (the child understands that certain actions lead to specific results), as well as coordination and hearing. After eight months, start teaching your baby how to assemble a classic pyramid on a stick, a pyramid made of colored cups is also useful: the child will be able to put one cup into another, distinguish colors, destroy the towers you have built. At this age, it's time to stock up on a children's sandbox shovel.

After one year your child's needs are growing, he is already ready to play simple games with you. For example, throwing and catching a ball. The kid will definitely like the sorter (in any version), the main thing is that there are no small parts in the toy that can be swallowed. At this age, it is worth showing the child large wooden puzzles: through long training, with your help, the child will learn how to assemble them. Music play centers will also remain popular in this age.
Large construction sets and sets of bricks will become a necessary toy to help develop imaginative thinking. First, show how to make a simple tower out of cubes, the kid will be happy to destroy it. Later he will learn to build on his own. Wheelchairs and strollers for dolls are universal toys, they will help a baby up to one year old to train walking, and after a year the child will be able to transport small things in them. The kid will also love mechanical toys with buttons and locks.

At this age, it's time to move on to role-playing games. The simplest sets will be used: dishes, doctor's suitcase, electrician's tools. Girls will love doll houses, and boys will love transforming trucks. At this age, the child will be interested in creative activities: modeling from plasticine, drawing (you can use various materials - from finger paints to pastel crayons), creating the simplest applications. Allow your child to do the so-called "daubing" on their own and show simple drawing techniques, this will help develop imaginative thinking.
Perhaps your little one will like the puppet show, played out and dubbed with your help. Don't forget about balls, teach your child to throw the ball from different positions, catch it and kick it. One of the favorite games is “cooking” pies in the sandbox (weather conditions permitting), so feel free to buy molds, scoops and watering cans. For the street, bicycles, gurney balance bikes and electric cars are also suitable.

Finally, it's time for mosaics and magnetic constructors. The kid will also like children's musical instruments - xylophone, ratchet, maracas, triangle. You can even arrange a family noise band, assign parts, and play along with your favorite song. Girls will be interested in playing mothers and daughters, so you should get at least one toy baby. Show your daughter how to swaddle, dress, feed, and bathe a baby toy.
Boys will love metal construction sets, imitation gas station, toy soldiers in a box and, of course, table hockey. Railroad and train are the dreams of any child, regardless of gender. In addition, three-year-old children are happy to collect puzzles, make simple words from magnetic letters, and decorate coloring pages. Finally, it's time for Lego constructors.

Games at this age are becoming more varied and interesting. Buy board games for the whole family, they develop logical thinking and unite households. There are puzzles for every taste on store shelves. Do not forget about your favorite games: dominoes, bingo, checkers, playing cards, sea battle. Your child will love the burning kits. At this age, it's time to try to collect wooden car models or animal figures. If you have not yet acquired a toy kitchen, food processor, toaster, iron and other household utensils, then it's time to go to the store. By the way, children's cleaning kits will also be appropriate.
DIY educational toys for children
If it is not possible to purchase toys in the store, you can easily make them yourself:
- One of the first baby toys is a rattle. It will require a plastic container (preferably transparent) and several colored buttons: put the small parts in the mold and screw the lid tightly - the toy is ready!
- For newborn babies, take scraps of different fabrics, sew bags from them and stuff the bags with grain, beads, peas or beads. The kid will like to sort out the bags, plus it helps to develop fine motor skills of the hands.
- Developing rug. If you sheathe a thin baby blanket (or patchwork bedspread) with colored fabric appliqués, you get a budget rug. By the way, you can sew pieces of a bag or foil inside some inserts, kids love rustling "secrets".
- Stuffed doll or sleeping toy. The more details there are on it, the more interesting it will be for the child to examine and touch it. The main thing is that the components of the toy are tightly sewn.
- Handmade beads. For this, any beautiful buttons, beads, stones, bottle caps, colored pasta and strong lace are suitable. Connect your imagination and experiment.
- Counting sticks and educational cards. Cards are easy to make from colored cardboard, you can draw numbers, letters, animals, as well as geometric shapes on them. If you stock up on ice cream sticks and paint them, then the counting sticks will turn out much better than the purchased ones. Connect your baby to create simple drawings.
- Developing stones. An interesting and easy-to-play toy: collect a bag of rounded pebbles (sea pebbles are best), paint them with bright colors and mark them with numbers and letters. Voila, the toy is ready! And if you sheathe an ordinary cardboard box with a soft cloth, then the stones will have their own house.
Remember, after a year your baby will be interested not only in playing educational toys, but also in creating them together with you, so try to create together.
