How to wash a newborn girl
Hygiene measures for newborn girls are especially important. The anatomical features of the baby make her genitals especially vulnerable. The infection can easily enter the vagina, and irritation is common. The baby's vagina in the first months of life is not yet inhabited by useful microflora, while the mucous membranes are thin enough, they can easily be injured. Therefore, it is especially important to monitor the condition of the child's genitals and wash them correctly.
During the first two weeks, the baby must be washed only with boiled water. After that, it is allowed to use tap water. The water temperature must be made comfortable for the child, within 36-37 degrees. It must be flowing, you cannot wash a girl in a basin.
Too often, foams, gels and other products should not be used, as they dry the baby's skin too much. These cosmetic products may only be used when heavily soiled. Only special detergents, intended for newborn.
The procedure for flushing should be as follows:
- First you need to wash your hands well with soap.
- Then the girl is placed on a flat surface covered with a diaper and the diaper is removed.
- Feces are removed with a wet baby napkin, preventing them from entering the genitals of the crumbs. Hand movements should be directed from front to back.
- Having adjusted the temperature of the water and the power of the jet, the baby is taken on the hand so that it lies on its back along the arm, with the fingers of the same hand they hold the girl's leg so that it does not slip.
- They direct a stream of water with their hand, wash the girl from front to back. First, the crotch is washed, and then the ass.
- The child is wrapped in a warm diaper and placed on the changing table. Thoroughly dry the baby's skin with dabbing movements.
- Leave the girl for a short time without a diaper, allowing her skin to breathe.
- Only then are areas of the body with diaper rash treated with baby cream and a clean diaper is put on.
How to wash a newborn boy
In the case of the boy, things are a little easier. Nature itself made sure that the genitals of a newborn boy were reliably protected from infection. The head of the penis is securely covered by the foreskin, so you do not need to move it yourself.
After removing the diaper, the boy is placed on his hand with his chest down and securely fixed with his fingers. The child's bottom is placed under a stream of warm tap water and washed with a free hand.
After that, the child is wrapped in a warm towel and all the folds are dried. After slightly ventilating the baby's skin, treat the places of redness and diaper rash with baby powder or cream and put on a clean diaper.
