How to choose a kindergarten
Since the situation with kindergartens in our country is not very good, in other words, there are simply not enough of them, you need to take care of the choice of a kindergarten in advance.
The easiest way is to bypass several kindergartens in the area where you live. So you can independently evaluate each institution by talking with the head and educators, independently inspecting the territory and premises. At the same time, do not be ashamed to ask, because your child will be here from morning to evening. Pay attention to how you were met, what impression the teacher makes.
The best place to start is by exploring the area. See if the playgrounds have sandpits, slides, ladders, and other facilities to keep children entertained. Evaluate the cleanliness and order in the garden - is there garbage in the sandboxes and flower beds, holes in the fence, etc.
Find out what additional activities are offered to children. Observe from the side how children and caregivers behave during a walk. Start a conversation with parents whose children visit this garden, find out their impressions of the institution and the teachers.
Kindergarten documents
After you have chosen a kindergarten, collect all the necessary documents:
- A medical card is the most important document. For its registration, contact the local clinic, undergo a medical examination by specialists and take the necessary tests.
- Help on the composition of the family. This document confirms the registration of the child in the area where the kindergarten is located.
- Baby's birth certificate, as well as its copy.
- Copy of mom's document (passport)
- Copies of documents confirming the availability of benefits.
- A voucher-direction for a baby to a child care institution.
- Application for the admission of the baby to kindergarten. Such an application is completed on the spot.
What do you need in kindergarten
The next item is things that a child needs to collect for kindergarten. Typically, these are clothing, removable shoes and stationery. Prepare the following from your clothes:
- Several sets of panties and T-shirts. If your baby is not yet able to use the pot on his own, then it is better to take more sets of underwear.
- 5 pairs of socks and tights. If the group is warm, then you can only put socks.
- Dresses or skirts and blouses for girls, for boys - shorts or pants and blouses - 2-3 sets.
- Warm blouses for the cold period - 2 pieces.
- Replaceable sandals. Slippers, sneakers and sneakers are usually not welcome in kindergarten.
- Sports uniforms. Usually, this is a white T-shirt and black shorts. You need to buy Czech shoes on your feet.
- Flannel pajamas - useful in the cold season.
- Hairbrush and hair bands for girls.
- Clean handkerchiefs - 2-3 pieces.
All things must be clean, ironed from natural fabrics. Choose clothes without elaborate ties or fasteners. It should be comfortable for the child to dress independently.
A teacher who will conduct creative classes will give you a list of the necessary stationery. Usually, these are accessories for applique, drawing, modeling. You may need notebooks, cloth, napkins, and more.
What time to send the child to kindergarten
There are various opinions on this issue. Some people think that with a grandmother ready to look after the baby, there is no need for a kindergarten at all. Others bring the baby to preschool almost from the cradle.
It is more correct to send the child to a children's institution, focusing on his development, primarily on independence and speech. Your baby should be able to make it clear what he wants - to ask for a drink or to go to the toilet. The child must also serve himself at least minimally - eat with a spoon and ask for a potty. After all, no one will change diapers for a baby during the day when there are 20 more children around. And educators will not feed individually from a spoon either. Therefore, you should not send a baby to kindergarten if he is not yet 2.5-3 years old.
How to prepare your child for the garden
To make it easier for the child to adapt to the new environment, teach him to start with the daily routine that is practiced in kindergarten. Wake him up at a time when he needs to wake up, when he starts attending kindergarten. Feed and walk with your baby also in the kindergarten group mode.
In many kindergartens, the first days of the child are left for several hours to make it easier for him to get used to. You can start from one hour, gradually increasing the time. Thus, the kid will get to know the teacher and the rest of the children, he will understand that he is not in danger. When the child is completely comfortable, it will be possible to leave him for a full day.
If the child does not want to go to kindergarten: what to do
If your toddler doesn't want to be in the garden, find out why. Perhaps he is offended there by other children or the teacher is too strict. In this case, a conversation with the teacher will help. After all, his direct responsibility is to make the baby comfortable to communicate with peers.
Another reason is that the child is not yet ready for kindergarten. In this case, there is only one way out - for a while, stop bringing him to kindergarten. Then you need to visit developing circles and sections with your baby so that he quickly adapts to communication with peers.
