How to care for and how to remove false hair
Nowadays everything natural is in fashion, from the tips hair to the lips But not all beauties can boast of beautiful, long and thick hair. In this case it may help build-up hair It can be very different: capsule, tape, strands on clips and many other variations; one session from a month to a year is enough, depending on the type of extension and the quality of the material. Hair extensions can be made from natural curls or artificial ones, but, like your own hair, extensions require proper care and attention.
Caring for hair extensions
So, the very first and most important thing is to wash your hair properly. The main rule is not to tangle the new hair, otherwise it will be very difficult to restore it to its original form. You should not rush to wash your hair immediately after the procedure; it is better to wait 2-3 days so that the fasteners do not fall off.
Before washing your hair, you should carefully comb your hair.
Ideal option for washing your hair - shower, no taking baths and washing your hair with your head in the basin.
Selection of cosmetics– It is best to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with a neutral pH level. Such products can be purchased at a beauty salon for special care for hair extensions, or in a regular store. Some experts advise using shampoos for oily hair, but in no case for dry ones.
The shampoo and conditioner are applied carefully, without rubbing or smearing. After application, you should immediately rinse it off with warm water, then distribute the conditioner over the entire length of your hair and rinse it off immediately. If you are used to rinsing your hair with water mixed with vinegar or lemon juice, then you should forget about it for the duration of “long beautiful hair.”
After washing, you do not need to twist, wring out, or rub your hair, just gently dry it with a soft and dry, preferably terry, towel. It is strictly forbidden to comb wet strands, as well as dry them with a hairdryer. It is better if the strands dry on their own.
It is not recommended to go to bed with wet hair, otherwise you will not be able to comb it in the morning. While sleeping, the ideal option would be a head net or a loose braid.
Combing is carried out only with special combs with wide teeth or natural bristles without any balls at the ends. You can only comb dry hair, starting from the ends; to do this, you can collect your hair in a ponytail for convenience. You need to perform this procedure three times a day, and with hair extensions, you should not do backcombing or tight hairstyles.
A few more important tips: if you decide dye your hair, then this can be done, but not often and the means for painting must be selected soft, without ammonia. Styling products are selected with a neutral pH. When styling your hair, do not touch the fastenings of the strands. During extensions, you can make masks, but homemade ones can only be done on your natural hair. At the same time, the mixture should not contain citrus fruits, spices, mustard, or alcohol. For hair extensions, it is better to use special nourishing and moisturizing masks created specifically for artificial hair. Don't forget about extension correction. For care you can purchase oil with silicone and antistatic spray.
Strictly contraindicated: saunas, solariums, baths, swimming pools with chlorinated water. All this damages the fastenings and the curls themselves.
How to remove hair extensions at home
Of course, it is best to remove hair extensions, as well as do them, in a beauty salon with a qualified professional. But there is not always time and financial opportunity for such a trip. You can remove such curls at home, following all the rules and caution so as not to damage your natural hair.
- Tape extensions can be removed quite easily and simply using a hairdryer and liquid with alcohol. The first step is to heat the attachment point with a hairdryer; many strands will easily detach on their own. And with some you will have to work hard - wipe the attachment point with liquid and carefully remove the strands.
- Hot extensions - for this you need to have a liquid product or gel at home that dissolves keratin capsules. You need to smear the product onto the capsules, then apply olive oil or a greasy mask. If you don’t have time for procedures, you can apply the gel and heat the capsules with a hairdryer.
- The Spanish method, where the strands are glued by hand, each separately. You can, of course, use a solvent, but it’s better to leave this matter to the craftsmen.
- The Chinese version, when the strands are attached with metal clips. They can be removed using pliers, and it is better to have an assistant nearby.
- The French version (braids are made from native hair, and strands are sewn to them) you just need to undo the braids.
