Brittleness is a condition in which the hair is unhealthy. They are weakened and thinned, they begin to split and break.
There are several reasons that, together or separately, cause damage to hair:
- The sebaceous glands of the head do not function properly.
- Absence proper nutrition. Hair, like the entire body, requires nourishment and vitamins: magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron. In their absence, hair loses strength and shine.
- Temperature changes.
- Frequent hair coloring.
- Incorrectly selected comb.
- Poor quality or incorrectly selected hair cosmetics.
- Presence of bad habits (smoking).

Once the hair has been damaged, it can no longer be restored completely. You can give it a second life by improving its appearance and eliminating the reasons that led it to this condition. There are several types of treatment:
- Diet - the meaning of treatment is as follows: you select the diet so as to “please” your hair. Include fruits and vegetables rich in magnesium and zinc (nuts, radishes). Exclude fast food from your diet and consume sweets in moderation. Thanks to proper nutrition, hair will renew itself much faster and growth will accelerate.
- Pharmacotherapy - treatment with keratin and paraffin oils.
- Vitamin therapy is treatment using a course of vitamins that are good for hair (A, E, C).
- Herbal medicine is a treatment based on the use of herbs and oils.
Products for brittle hair
Well, modern cosmetology provides a great variety of hair products. All you need to do is go to the store and choose what you like. Or whatever is needed at the moment. Perhaps we should focus on the most commonly used care products that every girl has.
Hair conditioner
It happens that it comes as a two-in-one complex, or maybe separately. Many people use it, but often not entirely correctly. To achieve results, it is best not to apply it to the hair roots, but somewhere 5 centimeters from them. After washing your hair, dry your hair with a towel, apply conditioner and leave for 5 - 10 minutes. Then, rinse it off with water at room temperature. It is best to wash your hair with lukewarm water. Try to dry them without using a hair dryer.
Why balms are useful:
- they contain a small amount of alcohol, which helps soften the hair;
- oils prevent moisture loss and add shine to hair;
- contain proteins (keratin).
Shampoos
For brittle hair, it is correct to give preference to sulfate-free shampoo. It does not dry out hair or skin. To keep your hair strong and strong, it is better to wash your hair about once every five days.
Hair sprays, lotions
They are made from herbal extracts, adding vitamins, keratin, and oils necessary for hair. They help revitalize hair, give it shine, and make combing easier.
Oils and serums
A very convenient and useful tool. Nothing moisturizes hair like oil, and sometimes a mixture of oils. However, it is worth considering the fact that the oil should be cosmetic and not weigh down the hair.

Masks for brittle hair at home
In order to give your hair a healthy look and provide proper care for it, it is not at all necessary to run to the salon. With the current choice of cosmetics, everything can be done at home.
Split ends mask
Ingredients:
- jojoba oil 1 tsp;
- burdock oil 1 tsp;
- castor oil ½ tsp.
Application: mix the ingredients, heat them in a water bath to room temperature. Apply along the lengths of your hair, generously lubricating the ends. Place your hair under a plastic cap for at least 30 minutes (ideally overnight). Wash off the mask with shampoo, then use conditioner or conditioner as usual.
Mask with lamination effect
Ingredients:
- gelatin 1 tbsp;
- hair mask/balm 1 tbsp;
- yolk 1 pc.;
- essential oil 1-2 drops to your taste.
Application: melt the gelatin in a water bath, adding a little water to it. Let it cool, add balm, yolk, essential oil. Mix well and apply to the entire length of your hair. Put them under a plastic cap, cover your head with a warm scarf or put on a cap. It is advisable to keep the mask for 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse with warm water, without shampoo. The result will not be long in coming. Your hair will be smooth and soft.
How to improve your hair
Ideal hair condition is the result of hard work and self-improvement. To have hair that will please the eye. It’s not enough to go to the salon once or make a couple of masks. Constant care and maintenance of the results obtained are required.
To do this, you must follow the following rules:
- Choose your comb carefully. She should not get tangled in her hair, much less tear it. Make sure that the care tool you choose does not scratch your scalp. It is preferable to buy combs made from natural materials.
- You also need to comb your hair correctly, from ends to roots, slightly damp.
