Vitamin C masks
The first thing many people associate with vitamin C is strengthening the immune system and preventing colds. But in fact, its spectrum of action is much wider and it also extends to the field of cosmetology. It is very useful to use as a component of face masks.
The benefits of vitamin C for the face
It is difficult to overestimate the benefits of vitamin C for the skin of the face, but it is possible to list everything for a very long time, so let's go through the main points of effectiveness that can be obtained from the regular use of formulations with its participation:
- Rejuvenation effect. It is a powerful natural antioxidant that protects cells from the damaging effects of free radicals. Due to this effect, it inhibits the aging process. Collagen synthesis helps to smooth out existing wrinkles and prevents the appearance of new ones. The skin becomes firm and youthful again.
- High quality UV protection. Collagen fibers, which are formed under the influence of vitamin C, are also responsible for protection from aggressive sunlight.
- Release from toxins. Vitamin C binds harmful components and removes them from the skin. Regular use makes the skin look fresh and healthy.
- Acne treatment. Ascorbic acid makes the skin beautiful, the pores are reduced under its influence, and the number of acne is reduced. Since it inhibits the entire life of the pathogenic flora, the subsequent appearance of acne is minimized.
- Strong vessels. Vitamin C masks work well to prevent rosacea.
- Lightening the skin. This is one of the most effective remedies in the fight against acne marks and pigmentation, even age-related.
However, it is worth knowing that in some cases masks with ascorbic acid can be harmful. If you have any of the following, stop using this substance in masks:
- diabetes;
- strong rosacea;
- phlebeurysm;
- individual intolerance;
- pathologies in which the metabolism of iron-containing pigments is impaired;
- open pustules, severe damage to the skin, cracks and other damage to the integrity of the dermis.
Vitamin C face masks
There are a few things to know before preparing and using vitamin C masks. These are:
- In pharmacies, you can buy liquid and powder forms of vitamin C. Both options are suitable for preparing a mask, so you can choose the one that is more convenient for you. And one more thing, the synthetic form of the vitamin can be replaced by any product where there is a lot of this substance. For example cranberries.
- Before applying the mask, the skin must be steamed and cleaned. Apply the ready-made formula, avoiding the eye area. Keep the masks on your face for about 15 minutes.
- After ascorbic acid comes into contact with air, its healing qualities evaporate very quickly, so the composition for the mask must be prepared immediately before use.
- Prepare the mask without the use of metal elements, as this will contribute to the destruction of the beneficial properties of the vitamin. It is ideal to take glass or porcelain appliances, but in extreme cases, plastic ones will also work.
- After removing the mask, it is useful to apply nourishing and moisturizing creams to the skin, and going outside should be carried out no earlier than 4 hours after the end of the session, otherwise there is a high risk of getting a skin burn. Therefore, it is best to do the procedure in the evening, before bedtime.
