The active substance Nystatin is used in therapy as an antifungal agent. When applied to the mucous membrane, it is not absorbed into the central bloodstream and does not have a detrimental effect on the liver; it normalizes the vaginal microflora.

Treatment lasts 10-14 days when applied morning and evening to the affected areas. Nystatin is an antibiotic, so this ointment is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women with vaginal dysbiosis, as well as with pancreatitis and menstruation. Side effects may include local reactions, in some cases chills. Nystatin ointment is available in tubes of 15 or 30 grams.

In pregnant women, the level of sex hormones increases greatly, which contributes to the instability of the vaginal microflora - it becomes more acidic.  Hormonal changes affect immunity, reducing it and creating ideal conditions for Candida yeast.
