No wardrobe is complete without white things. Each lady has blouses, dresses, knitwear, underwear of this color. It refreshes, creates a festive mood and just looks stylish. However, it is difficult to put on a white thing 2 times in a row, traces of wear, stains from decorative cosmetics, tea, coffee are very noticeable on it. It has to be washed frequently using chemical powders that destroy the fiber structure of the fabric. Things quickly lose their shape and attractive appearance. How to bleach faded things

Here are some simple recipes for bleaching faded things at home:

1. Apply traditional chlorine bleach whiteness. Or use modern oxygen bleaching agents. The method of application of the products is indicated on the packaging label.
2. A reliable way is to boil the item in a soapy solution. It is better to use laundry soap. You need to boil things for 1-1.5 hours.
3. Prepare a dry mixture of 1 tbsp. l. crushed laundry soap, 1 tbsp. l. citric acid, 4 tbsp. l. large cooking salt, 1 tbsp. l. potato starch. The spots are smeared with the resulting composition from the seamy side. In this state, the thing is left overnight, and in the morning it is rinsed out in running water. Next, the clothes are washed as usual in the machine.
4. Mixing regular baking soda with 3% hydrogen peroxide is effective. For 2 liters of warm water take 1 tbsp. l. soda and 1 tsp. peroxide. Shed things are placed in the solution and heated over a fire to 70 degrees. For 10 minutes, the basin with the linen is kept on the stove, and after that the clothes are rinsed in running water.
5. A solution of potassium permanganate is also capable of bleaching things. To do this, add a handful of washing powder, a few crystals of potassium permanganate to a bucket of hot water, so that the solution turns out to be a light pink color. Dirty things are immersed inside, the container is closed with polyethylene. Soaked things are kept in the solution until it cools completely. Then the cleaned items must be rinsed in cool water and dried.

How to whiten baby clothes

Babies leave stains not only on white clothes, but very often they have to remove stains from tights, socks, and white shirts. One of the most effective ways to remove yellowness or grayness is to use a mixture of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. For purification, 1 tbsp is poured into a bucket of hot water. l. ammonia and 2 tbsp. l. hydrogen peroxide 3%. Dirty children's things are placed inside and kept for 20-25 minutes. Then the white clothes are taken out and thoroughly rinsed with running water.

Spots from snow-white golf shoes and tights can be removed with boric acid solution. Pour warm water into the basin, add 2-3 tbsp. l. boric acid. The laundry is kept in the solution for about 3 hours, then washed in the usual way. The solution also has a prophylactic effect against fungus.

If you have to clean a white item often, the fabric deteriorates quickly. In this case, it is recommended to use a gentle agent - soda solution. Apply 6 tbsp for a bucket of warm water. l. soda, 1-2 tbsp. l. ammonia. Things are kept in the solution for several hours, then rinsed and washed as usual. In the presence of persistent yellowness, it is possible to boil clothes in such a solution, it will not spoil the appearance even with regular boiling.

How to bleach a woolen garment

Wool fibers are distinguished by their durability and strength. The annoying product can be dissolved and knitted with a new yarn. But keeping the white color intact after active wearing is difficult. The use of chlorine-based bleaches can damage the fiber structure, causing the wool to lose its shape and softness. Therefore, it is recommended to use folk methods of bleaching woolen items.

1. Prepare a solution of their cool water and hydrogen peroxide in a ratio of 8/1. It is necessary to prepare enough solution to completely immerse the woolen thing in it. Next, white clothes are kept in a basin for up to 7 hours. If heavily soiled, it is possible to leave it overnight. After the clothes are rinsed with cool water and dried, not in direct sunlight.
2. You can use chalk for bleaching. For one large woolen thing, 0.5 kg of crushed chalk will be required. It is poured into a basin, filled with water. Particles of chalk do not dissolve in water; during the soaking process, you need to constantly stir the water. Chalk particles penetrate the wool fibers, bleaching it. After 40-50 minutes, the woolen item can be taken out and rinsed.
3. Soften the water during washing and remove the yellow coating from the wool, possibly with a solution of baking soda with warm water. For bleaching, things are immersed in the solution for 2-3 hours, then they are rinsed out. If you add a little baking soda with each wash, the water will soften and the clothes will not turn yellow.

How to whiten a dyed thing

In order to avoid such unpleasant surprises as a dyed white thing, you need to carefully sort the laundry before washing. For colored items, use powder marked color; for white items, use special products. Liquid bleaches have a softer effect, dyed silk, linen, wool can be washed with them. Painted items should be cleaned immediately without drying them.

If the thing has recently been painted, then it can be soaked in a solution prepared from 2 tsp. ammonia and 3 tbsp. l. hydrogen peroxide, diluted in 4 liters. hot water. The basin is put on fire and boiled for 40-60 minutes. Then the laundry is rinsed out.

An effective remedy is a mixture of starch, salt and citric acid mixed in equal proportions. The dry components are diluted with warm water to obtain a mixture with a consistency like thick sour cream. Gruel is applied to the painted things from the seamy side and left overnight. In the morning, things are rinsed and dried.

All of these methods must be used separately. Do not boil clothes too often, the fibers will become thinner and the item will lose its shape. If it was not possible to clean things, then you can use the services of dry cleaning.
