The benefits of pollen
The pollen that is collected from flowers is the male plant cells that are needed for reproduction. It contains a lot of vitamins, minerals and biologically active substances, due to which this bee product has a number of healing properties:
- Promotes growth and repair of damaged tissues.
- Thanks to its antioxidant and zinc content, pollen improves the health of nails, hair and skin, giving it elasticity. It is no coincidence that it is included in many cosmetics.
- It has a diuretic and choleretic effect, improves liver function.
- It actively participates in the process of hematopoiesis, increasing the number of leukocytes and erythrocytes.
- If pollen is used in parallel with medications, it can enhance their effect. If you use it on a regular basis, it will help to reduce the dosage of medications you are taking.

- Among other things, this is a good after-holiday remedy: pollen perfectly relieves hangover syndrome.
- Suppresses the growth of pathogenic bacteria, improves intestinal motility.
- It significantly increases protein synthesis, therefore it is an effective anabolic.
- Pollen has a beneficial effect on the heart. Reception of this remedy contributes to the treatment of atherosclerosis and ischemic disease, improves blood microcirculation, and normalizes the heart rate.

So we can say that pollen sometimes surpasses many medications in its medicinal properties. Its composition depends on the plant from which it was collected, but the benefits remain unchanged. 
Pollen harm
For adults who are not allergic to this product, pollen is usually not harmful. As for babies, it should be given with caution. This is a very concentrated product, so children should not use it up to six months. A child from six months to three years old can eat pollen, but no more than three tablespoons a day.
For pregnant women, the dosage should be reduced by at least half: it is very high in calories, and also contains a considerable amount of fructose. In addition, since pollen can be an allergen, dermatitis may develop in babies.
If, after applying the pollen, you still experience discomfort (nausea, redness, rash), you should immediately stop taking it and consult a doctor.
Pollen contraindications
There are not many contraindications for pollen. The main one is an allergic reaction (however, like other beekeeping products). However, no more than 5% of people are usually allergic to it. It also happens that a person who cannot breathe pollen takes it inside without any negative consequences. 
Pollen should be taken with caution and sick diabetes mellitus... In addition, it is also not recommended for people prone to bleeding.
Finally, pollen can be energizing, so don't take it in the evening.
Pollen application
As practice shows, taking pollen is much more useful than decoctions or herbal infusions. It is used for diseases of the nervous system and metabolic disorders, with a feeling of constant weakness, anemia, various diseases associated with the work of the gastrointestinal tract. Pollen is indispensable for men as well: it helps to cure sexual impotence and prostate disease.
In addition to medical purposes, pollen is actively used in cosmetology. On its basis, products for the skin and hair are made: creams, masks, scrubs, as well as soap. 
To strengthen and grow hair, pollen infusion is very useful, 200 g should be poured with half a glass of water, let it brew and leave for half an hour. After that, add one egg yolk, grind everything well and rub into the scalp. Wash off after a quarter of an hour. It is enough to use such a remedy once every two weeks.
Despite all the wonderful qualities of pollen, it is very active, so it should be taken with caution. It is best to start with a dosage of a few grains, after which, subject to normal health, the amount can be gradually increased.
How to take pollen
Pollen is usually consumed in courses. Here are the ways to use it for various diseases:
- Elderly people with dementia in the initial stage should give pollen 1 tsp. three times per day. After a month's course, there is a need to take a break for two to three weeks.
- If your kidneys are hurting, it is helpful to take a mixture of tea pollen with the same amount of honey. The dosage and course of treatment is the same as the previous recipe. Additionally, it is good to take renal preparations and herbal decoctions.

- With cholecystitis, gastritis or frequent constipation, the remedy is taken three times a day, 1 tsp. You need to drink it half an hour before meals for three weeks.
- For diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, this recipe will help: take 500 g of good honey, add 75 ml of aloe juice and 20 g of pollen to it. All these healing components must be thoroughly mixed and placed in a cool, warm place. They drink this composition half an hour before meals twice a day. The course can be quite long, but many problems with the work of the gastrointestinal tract will be behind.
- Pollen will also help with hypertension. Here, the course of treatment is slightly longer: about a month and a half. You need to mix pollen with honey in a ratio of 1: 2, respectively, and drink three times a day 30 minutes before meals.
It should be taken into account that pollen dissolves rather poorly in water. Therefore, it is always mixed with fermented milk products or liquid honey. It is good to add such a mixture to porridge or season fruit salads with it: both healthy and tasty.
It is very good to take pollen on an empty stomach: this way all its healing qualities are better revealed. You can simply eat a small spoonful of the wonderful remedy, chewing it well. Another option is to insist a small amount of pollen and drink it half an hour before meals, so that all the healing elements enter your body.
These are not all the beneficial properties of pollen. It is beneficial for many diseases and at any age, so take pollen and be healthy!
