Home Health Diets Diet BUTCH

Now among athletes, and those simply wanting to lose weight, the BOOCH diet or protein-carbohydrate alternation is especially popular. It’s more likely not even a diet, but a special method of nutrition.

Butch diet - what's the point?

This diet is based on the principle of alternating days when you can eat foods rich in proteins and days when carbohydrate foods are allowed. This contrast creates conditions for accelerating metabolic processes in the body and gives high results from following a diet. The result of the diet directly depends on the strength of the contrast.

Correct adherence to the BUC diet consists of following four cycles:

  • On the first day, protein foods are allowed.
  • The second day should also be protein.
  • On the third day, it is recommended to eat carbohydrate foods.
  • During the fourth day, it is suggested to eat mixed food.

Then, if desired, you should continue a new cycle. The number of cycles depends entirely on your willpower and the number of pounds you want to lose. The weight goes away quickly from the first days, as there is an intensive consumption of fats.

By the end of the second protein day, as a result of metabolism, the fat burning process reaches its maximum. In order not to start losing muscle mass, you need to include carbohydrates in your diet, which happens on the third day. An impressive amount of carbohydrates allows the body not to lose muscle, but to continue to get rid of fat reserves. In this case, glycogen consumed from carbohydrate foods will accumulate in the muscles and liver.

On the fourth day, further replacement of lost adipose tissue occurs for the body. On this day, the amount of carbohydrates is reduced, and the protein content, on the contrary, increases.

Results on the butch diet

Subject to all rules on diet BUT quick weight loss is not worth waiting for. During protein days, water leaves the body, which manifests itself in significant weight loss. But since carbohydrates retain moisture, the weight soon returns. This is how body weight fluctuates throughout the diet. Don't be upset, this is normal for this diet.
