Why do spiders appear in the house
All spiders are predators and hunt small insects. Only a few species of spiders live in human dwellings. Most often these are gray or black spiders, centipedes or vagabonds. These arthropods weave a web in which they catch flies, bedbugs, cockroaches and other small animals.
Spider-man's homes are attracted to suitable living conditions. They love warmth and dryness, but most importantly, food. In houses where there are no small insects, spiders do not appear.
The reasons for the appearance of spiders on human territory can be as follows:
- The heat needed for a normal life. Therefore, spiders move to human habitation in the fall.
- Some spiders like dryness, while others are attracted to wet places. Both those and others in a person's apartment will find suitable secluded places for themselves.
- Rare cleaning apartments cause the appearance of insects that are food for spiders.
Spiders enter people's houses randomly from the street and stay there only if the conditions for living in apartment spiders fit. If there is no food for the spiders in the apartment, then the spiders will leave. Arthropods make their way into the apartment through cracks in the floor, on street clothes, along with plants brought from the street or other objects.
How to get rid of spiders in your home
Like other animals, spiders prefer places where there is food for them. Therefore, the first step is to eliminate their food. First you need to spray all the corners in the house and the baseboards against insects crawling in the house. As a result of such an operation, not only the amount of potential food for the spiders will decrease, but also the number of them. If aerosols do not help, then use crayons or gels.
Then you need to collect all the cobwebs in the corners, armed with a mop with a damp cloth wound around it. Do this without hurrying so that its owners remain with the cobweb on the rag. After completing this operation, remove the rag carefully along with the spiders and discard or destroy.
Clean regularly using a vacuum cleaner. At the same time, remove the brush from the unit and vacuum the baseboards with a pipe only, paying special attention to crevices and corners.
To combat spiders, you can use special devices that repel insects with ultrasound. They do no harm to humans. Another way to deal with spiders is to make repairs, because special additives that repel insects are included in modern finishing materials.
A good way to drive out spiders is to use scents that they don't like. These arthropods cannot stand the smell of peppermint, chestnuts, tea tree or eucalyptus. You can spread fresh plants around the apartment or place aroma lamps with corresponding smells in the corners.
What to do if there are a lot of spiders in the house
When the house is overrun with spiders, and no measures to drive them out are successful, most likely arthropods have settled right in your house. It is necessary to carry out a general cleaning in all areas of the apartment or house. Check all possible nooks and crannies, the attic and the basement, take apart the old junk and throw away everything you don't need. Clutches of eggs are most likely to be found during harvesting. They look like light cocoons wrapped in cobwebs. They need to be destroyed. After that, the walls and ceiling in the attic and basement will need to be whitewashed with lime. The smell of this substance scares off spiders.
Perhaps, you will not be able to cope with the invasion of arthropods on your own, then you need to call a pest control service. Specialists will treat the premises with a special poison that kills insects. In this case, you will have to move out of the apartment during processing.
