How and with what to wash plastic windows
How nice it is to look at the world through clean windows, but how difficult it is to achieve this. With experience, every housewife acquires several secrets on how to bring windows to perfect cleanliness. Today we will reveal these secrets for you.
How to wash plastic windows and window sills
Before starting difficult work, you need to prepare. To combat dirt you will need:
The window sill and frames must be washed with a different solution, so prepare several containers and rags. To choose the necessary cleaning product, determine the level of contamination. For normal cleaning, any mild product will do. If you need to clean your windows after renovation, take enhanced measures.
Prohibited when cleaning use hard/metal scourers, knives and other objects that can damage windows. Also avoid the use of aggressive chemicals (solvent, acid, etc.).
If you have recently installed windows and there is still film on them, remove it, since its main purpose is to protect the frame from damage during installation. Remove it as soon as possible, otherwise it will become more difficult over time.
For cleaning, it is better to use standard cleaning products, such as window spray, which must be applied in a zigzag pattern.
There is also a recipe for the product that you can make yourself. To do this, add fairy (or other dishwashing detergent) to the water; under no circumstances use liquid soap (it contributes to the appearance of difficult-to-remove stains). The resulting product must be foamed with a sponge.
You can wash windows using the “grandmother’s method”; to do this, mix vinegar with water in a ratio of 1 to 10. Leave the sponge in the solution for five minutes and start cleaning.
The basic rules and means for washing have been discussed, it’s time to move on to the process itself.
How to wash windows without streaks
Windows should be washed in cloudy, windless weather. Under other conditions, streaks will remain on the glass due to rapid drying.
Follow this plan when washing:
- frames;
- glass;
- windowsill.
Wash windows correctly from top to bottom, and you need to repeat the procedure several times: first wash off the dirt, and then the detergent. At the end, you need to rub the windows until they shine (use newspaper for this).
To keep your windows clean for as long as possible, prepare a “magic film.” To do this you will need:
- water - 1 tbsp;
- glycerin - 2 tbsp;
- ammonia - 2 drops.
The product must be applied to previously washed windows.
