When the baby starts to crawl
You really shouldn't neglect crawling. For a baby, walking on his feet creates a very heavy load on the fragile spine. But when a child crawls, his back muscles are actively strengthened, which will then support him while walking.
At about three months, the baby learns to roll over on his tummy. Then many interesting objects that he did not see lying on his back become available to his gaze. From about the same age, the child tries to reach out to objects of interest to him with his pens, and a little later to crawl up to them.
By the age of five to six months, babies can usually begin to crawl, and by eight to nine months, their muscles are strong enough to try to walk.
How to teach a child to crawl
If by six months age the baby is not yet making attempts to crawl, it is necessary stimulate.
- Put the baby on the floor on his tummy, and put a bright toy in front of him at a short distance. The child will certainly be interested in it and try to get it, at the same time he will learn to crawl.
- In order to crawl well, the baby must be able to lean on the straightened arms. So he can learn to crawl on all fours. You can form such a skill with a little trick. Place an object of interest a little higher than the head of the child lying on the tummy. He will try to take a bright object and begin to rise, leaning on his hands, and reach for the object. If the toy did not attract the attention of the baby, then first invite him to touch, and then raise it higher.
- Place a roll made from a folded blanket or other fabric under your baby's chest. The baby's tummy and legs should lie in this position on a horizontal surface, for example, on the floor. The head and arms are free. In this position, the child has a great view. With his hands he can take things interesting to him. This is a great workout for your arm muscles.
- To teach your toddler to stand on all fours, place a roll of rolled fabric under his tummy. In this position, his arms and legs will hang down. The instinct will make the child lean on the limbs and get on all fours.
The child crawls on his bellies
Some children prefer to move around, tightly pressing the little body to the floor, rather than on all fours. Movement on bellies is very useful for the development of the child and you should not be afraid of him. In general, do not retrain your toddler if he prefers technique in his bellies. Over time, his muscles will get stronger, and he will learn to crawl on all fours.
If the baby does not get on all fours for a long time, you need to help him. Perhaps he is simply afraid to tear his body off the floor. Indeed, in such a position, you can easily fall. This child needs help. Take a wide towel and run it under your baby's belly. Pull the ends of the towel up to help the baby on all fours. So you take on some of its weight and insure it while driving. After several such activities, the baby will be able to crawl on all fours himself.
