How to properly store shoes
As you know, you can never have too many shoes, just like money. Now almost every person has several pairs of shoes - summer, winter, casual, weekend, sports and demi-season. All this wealth needs proper handling and careful storage, otherwise the shoes will quickly become unusable and will have to be thrown away.
How to store shoes
In order for your shoes to serve you for more than one year, you need to follow a few simple rules when putting them away for storage:
- Be sure to dry your shoes thoroughly before storing them. Excess moisture can very quickly ruin even the most expensive and high-quality shoes.
- Be sure to thoroughly clean and repair all shoes if required. This will save you from urgent repairs and unpleasant moments when you take things out after storage.
- Store boxes of shoes in a dark and well-ventilated area. The sun's rays can ruin the color of shoes, and high humidity and lack of fresh air will lead to mold or mildew.
- To prevent your shoes from drying out, keep them away from heating devices.
- Before storing your shoes, be sure to lubricate them with a protective cream or other product that is suitable for the material from which your shoes are made.
- Do not bend shoes when storing them to prevent them from delaminating or cracking.
- Place any pair in your own box, don’t throw everything in a heap. This way, unnecessary scratches and abrasions will not appear.
How to clean shoes
Before clean Shoes, shake off sand, dust and small stones so that they do not scratch the surface of the shoes. After this, wash your shoes from dirt and old cream. This can be done with a special product or a regular glass cleaner. Just soak a regular piece of cloth in this product and wipe your shoes with it. Do not wash it with regular water. It ruins leather shoes.
After this, apply a special shoe cream to your shoes. For new shoes, you can use a colorless composition. If the shoes are already worn, then choose a colored cream, the shade of which matches the shade of your shoes. Apply the cream in a circular motion. Don't forget to lubricate the shoe's welt and the edges of the sole with it.
After this, the shoes should be polished with a natural bristle brush. Do this with light movements, do not press the brush too hard. Then add shine using a velvet cloth, a piece of soft velvet fabric.
For cleaning For suede shoes, use a special brush, the surface of which consists of rubber figure eights. Never wash suede shoes with liquid products, especially water. To remove dirt and spots use special sandpaper. Instead of cream, use a suede spray.
Where to store shoes
After the shoes are sorted, cleaned and sent for repair, they must be stored. The very first place that comes to mind is, of course, the corridor or hallway. Here you can use cabinets, various racks and shoe racks, or even ordinary shelves for storage. It's very simple and effective. This is how casual shoes that are used all the time are usually left.
To store out-of-season shoes, use mezzanines, closets, dressing rooms and other places. The easiest way to store shoes is in the boxes in which they were purchased. That's what they are designed for. In order not to get confused about which box contains what, you can simply label them.
If the boxes are not preserved, use special containers instead. They are sold individually and in whole sets. You can even find entire chests of drawers made from such containers specifically for storing shoes.
