There are several ways to make liquid wallpaper yourself. You can use a wide variety of materials for this. For example, you can make liquid wallpaper from cellulose fiber or cotton. To do this, you can use ordinary medical cotton wool. Another source material is insulation called "Ecowool", which contains cellulose from wood.

  1. First, grind the cotton wool well. Use ordinary scissors or a construction mixer for this purpose.
  2. Add to this the component holding the fiber together. Casein glue is good in this quality, PVA glue is suitable. You can also add acrylic putty.
  3. For an extra decorative effect, add glitter, mineral chips or mica. Don't add too many additives, one or two will be enough.
  4. Also add paint for acrylic paints. Mix everything well. If the mixture is very thick, add a little water and stir well.

Another method involves using paper as a base for liquid wallpaper. Any paper you can find will do. Tear it into small pieces. Then the scraps must be placed in a bucket and filled with plain water. Take 5 liters of water for 1 kilogram of raw paper. The contents should be left for a few hours. Then mix the contents of the container with a construction mixer until smooth.

Now pour PVA glue into the container, add the dyes and mix everything well again. Place the prepared mixture in a bag and leave for 14 hours. Then mix the resulting composition by hand again. Before applying to the wall gypsum must be added to the homemade mixture.

Another recipe involves the use of sawdust as the main component. Liquid wallpaper made from sawdust have several advantages over other options. Such wallpaper can be used as an excellent substitute for sound and heat insulation. This material is environmentally friendly and does not cause mold.

For 1 kg of wood sawdust, take 0.5 kg of gypsum mixture, 0.5 liters of PVA glue, dye and 5 liters of water. The technology for making wallpaper in this case is very similar to the manufacture of liquid wallpaper on a paper basis. The sawdust is poured with water and left to swell for 4 hours. Then add the rest of the additives, except for gypsum. Thoroughly mix everything with a mixer and leave for 12 hours. Before the application of liquid wallpaper on the wall add gypsum to the mixture and stir well. Please note that gypsum sets rather quickly, so homemade liquid wallpaper must be quickly applied to the surface.

Thus, there are several effective ways to make your own liquid wallpaper. In addition, such homemade wallpapers are much more economical than factory ones.
