  • There is no need to rub the fabric intensively during the washing process, since dirt is already well removed. If you wash the tulle every three months, then the dirt will not have time to eat into the fibers, and it will not be difficult to maintain whiteness.
  • If the windows face a busy street or if the curtains are hanging in kitchen, you will have to wash them more often.
  • Before washing, the removed curtains must be taken out to the balcony or outside and thoroughly shake out the accumulated dust from them. This will significantly improve the quality of your wash.

How to machine wash tulle

Fold it neatly several times before loading the curtain into the washing machine. This will prevent the formation of numerous creases on the fabric, which will need to be ironed out. If the tulle is made of a very delicate and expensive fabric, for example, embroidered organza, then put it rolled up in a special washing bag.

The usual detergent is suitable for automatic washing machines, or you can use a special detergent for delicate fabrics. There are also special powders that are used to wash curtains, they contain starch and bleaching ingredients.

  • Be sure to set an additional rinse to completely remove the formed foam.
  • Refuse spinning so that the openwork fabric is not damaged.
  • Reduce the amount of detergent by half, because the machine will run at a partial load.
