Damp smell in the car
If, some time after purchasing a car, you notice an unpleasant smell of dampness in the interior, the cause is most often due to improper care of the vehicle. Moreover, this smell is very difficult to remove; it can turn into a real problem for the car owner.
There may be several reasons for the occurrence of an unpleasant damp smell. One of these is clogging of the special drainage holes that are provided in the car. They ensure the removal of moisture from the interior. Therefore, first you need to clean all these holes and at the same time treat the car with an anti-corrosion agent. After this, you need to thoroughly clean the car interior, wash and dry the floor mats. Then you can use a flavoring agent.
Smell of dampness in the apartment
A persistent, characteristic smell of moisture in an apartment can appear for several reasons. These are both quite banal and quite unexpected:
- After the apartment is flooded due to unscrupulous neighbors, a leak in the roof or due to heavy rainfall.
- After a heating or water supply pipe breaks.
- Poor performance of the ventilation system.
- Low waterproofing of walls.
- Large quantity indoor flowers.
- Low quality content bathroom and the kitchen, which is why the smell of dampness can migrate to other areas of the apartment.
First, you need to establish the cause of the smell by inspecting the apartment for leaks and condensation on the walls, and checking the operation of the ventilation. If problems are found, they must be completely eliminated. If even after this the unpleasant smell does not disappear, then general cleaning will help. In this case, a disinfectant solution, ammonia or bleach should be added to the water for cleaning. Every time after cleaning the room, spray essential oil in the apartment. It will help suppress reproduction microorganisms and freshens the air in the room.
Damp smell on clothes
A musty damp smell on clothes often appears after washing if the laundry is left in the washing machine for a long time. Therefore, to avoid its occurrence, try to immediately hang things out to dry after finishing washing. In this case, it is best to dry clothes in the air, or in a well-ventilated area.
If dampness still affects your clothes with its smell, then use regular soda. To do this, put the laundry in the washing machine, put the powder in one of the washing powder compartments, and baking soda in the other. Turn on the washing machine on intensive cycle. When it runs out, add conditioner and run an extra rinse. Dry your clothes in the sun outside.
Another way is to use table vinegar. You can simply soak your laundry in a vinegar solution and then wash it by hand. You can do it easier - add vinegar to the air conditioner compartment. First dilute the vinegar with the same amount of water.
