How to properly care for your teeth

Since childhood, all of us have been instilled with the basic rules of oral hygiene. They must be followed throughout your life - only then can you keep your teeth healthy for a long time.

The results of numerous studies have confirmed the opinion that with regular visits to the dentist and timely treatment, a person reduces the risk of developing the following ailments:

It is necessary to take comprehensive care of the oral cavity. It is important to use only modern and high-quality drugs. Minimum set of care products teeth should include a toothbrush and toothpaste. But for complete care, other means are also necessary.

The degree of brush hardness should be selected individually. So, hard brushes are suitable for smokers or people with heavy deposits of tartar and plaque. Soft brushes should be used for sensitive gums and for children. For people with minor dental problems and sensitive gums, brushes of medium hardness are suitable.

In addition to brushing, your teeth also need dental floss. It is used to clean the interdental space where the bristles of the brush cannot be reached. If you wear braces or dentures, you will need a brush. This is a great tool for cleaning between teeth. To eliminate unpleasant odors, disinfect and cleanse plaque in the mouth, it is necessary to use rinses.

How to brush your teeth

As everyone knows, teeth require cleaning at least twice a day. The first cleaning is done in the morning after waking up, and the second in the evening - before going to bed. The cleaning itself should last at least three minutes.

The sequence of cleaning actions should be as follows:

  1. To begin, brush your teeth from the outside, pointing the brush vertically from the gum to the edge of the teeth.
  2. Do this on top and bottom.
  3. Do the same on the inside.
  4. The part of the teeth that is involved in chewing is cleaned with movements in the horizontal plane.
  5. Don't forget to clean your tongue. This can be done either with the brush itself or with its outer surface, provided that it has a grooved surface. When brushing your tongue, be careful not to press too hard on the root of your tongue to avoid causing vomiting.
  6. Lastly, massage your gums while closing your mouth.

After brushing, clean the interdental space with a special floss, and then rinse your mouth with a special mouth rinse.

Prevention of caries

To prevent caries, it is very important to adhere to a proper diet. This is especially true for the amount of carbohydrate and, in particular, sweet foods. It needs to be consumed less. Then you should pay attention to your food intake. Better try don't snack between main meals. Ideally, you should brush your teeth after every meal. But if this is not possible, then you should at least rinse your mouth with clean water and then with mouthwash.

To further strengthen teeth enamel, it is recommended to consume sesame seeds, cheese, onions, cottage cheese and milk, and nuts. Fluoride prophylaxis should be considered a method of caries prevention. It involves drinking fluoride-fortified salt, water and milk. This also includes taking a course of fluoride tablets and calcium supplements.
