With IUI, the doctor determines the day when the probability of conception is high and, using a plastic tube, inserts the sperm of the husband or donor into the cervical canal. This happens quickly and painlessly, even without anesthesia. Of course, there are a number of contraindications here, including oncology, obstruction of the fallopian tubes, and infectious diseases. But nevertheless, IUI is quite often and successfully practiced among our women, pleasing with its effectiveness and absence of complications.
• GIFT and ZIFT methods. Less popular, because they are suitable only for patients with absolutely healthy fallopian tubes, but are much more effective than IVF and even IUI. GIFT is a gamete (ovule with sperm) transplant, and ZIFT is a transplant of an already fertilized egg into the fallopian tube.
