Easter Island
This small piece of land, owned by Chile, is located in the Pacific Ocean. He became famous all over the world for his giant statues, which, as it is believed, keep the whole secret in themselves. According to one of the versions, they contain information about the catastrophe that destroyed the island civilization. Scientists have been arguing for several decades, but no one can give an exact answer. It is one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world and is probably unique due to its isolation. Scientists are scratching their heads not only on the theme of Moai, world-famous stone sculptures, there are already plenty of questions here. Judge for yourself:
- Easter Island, aka Rapa Nui, is located 3700 km from the continent, and the nearest islands of Polynesia are 2500 km away. When exactly and under what circumstances did civilization form on the island?
- How could the ancient inhabitants of stone, without modern equipment, create thousands of different sculptures in the region, move each one twelve kilometers and put it vertically? This is all provided that the height of each sculpture is in the region of twelve meters, and the weight of each copy is approximately fifty tons.
- For what purposes were these sculptures made in general and why do they not have the slightest resemblance to any other statues of other peoples?
- How did the Rapanui Rongo-Rongo writing system originate, which has no analogues and which, by the way, has not been deciphered to this day?
- Why did such a long and powerful work suddenly stop abruptly, the created Moai were thrown into the ground, and the whole civilization disappeared at once under mysterious circumstances as it appeared? Near the Ranu Raraku volcano to this day, there are already begun and not finished sculptures, but why? What made the Rapanui people abandon what they started and where did they go?
This island is surrounded by secrets and legends, there are many myths and assumptions about it, but nothing specific. Probably the best way to get acquainted with the history of this place is to go there yourself and, having achieved harmony, feel all the energy. Who knows, maybe you will reveal all the secrets ...
Aokigahara
From Japanese, Aokigahara is translated as "Plain of Blue Trees", is popular under the name Jukai, which means "Sea of Trees". It looks nothing unusual, such a primitive forest, spread out at the foot of Mount Fuji. And it would be so, if not one "but" ... Behind all his eerie beauty hides a huge number of suicides. This place ranks second in the number of suicides - the "black" palm tree at the Golden Gate in San Francisco. During a year, an average of 70-100 bodies are found in this forest, and this means that parting with life here occurs once every 3-5 days, it's even scary to imagine. The options for suicide are different, but more often it is hanging and poisoning. Since the 70s of the twentieth century, the Japanese police have been officially engaged in the search for bodies, which, of course, are subsequently removed from the scene and buried properly. However, the place is ominous even without corpses, and its energy, to put it mildly, is repulsive.
Since this place is in demand by suicides, at the entrance to it, the concerned authorities installed a special sign on which the phone number of psychological assistance is indicated. In addition, in nearby shops it is impossible to find drugs that can be fatal in case of an overdose. The sellers themselves, with just one glance, can identify from a huge number of tourists those who came to admire the beauty of the area at all and, on occasion, immediately turn to the police, thanks to which more than one hundred human lives were saved.
Why is this place chosen by suicides? Maybe the forest has its own secret? In addition to volunteers, many people die in the forest who simply get lost in it, and this is not difficult to do. There is a magnetic anomaly in Aokigahara, so the compass is a useless toy, you shouldn't rely on your memory either, everything is too monotonous here. The eerie history of the forest dates back to the Middle Ages, when the local poor brought their old relatives to Aokigahara and left them to die of starvation. People groaned in agony, but no one came to them. They say that the ghosts of the souls of these martyrs are still noticed in the forest.
To dare and visit this incredibly eerie place, you just need to have reinforced concrete nerves, because walking around the area, any branch crunching under your feet may turn out to be a human bone ...
Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle is one of the most popular mystical places on the whole earth, nevertheless, interest in it does not fall, because the mystery has not yet been solved. This wonder of the world is located in the Atlantic Ocean and falls into the area between Puerto Rico, Bermuda and Florida. Who has not heard anything about him: planes and ships go missing, people watch ghost ships, which for some unknown reason were abandoned by the team in the middle of the ocean, talk about time travel and much more, more creepy. Scientists have no less various explanations for what is happening, but there is still no exact answer, despite many studies. They talk about black holes, and about aliens, and about faults in space, etc. Much that is happening in the Bermuda Triangle is not made public, so as not to sow panic.
In this place, difficult weather conditions, however, disappearances often occur in quite favorable conditions. One of the high-profile stories occurred in the Bermuda Triangle in the 45th year of the twentieth century, when, in sunny weather and all favorable conditions, 5 torpedo bombers fell through the ground. By radio communications, the pilots reported a complete failure of navigation equipment, which led to complete disorientation. All attempts to determine the direction were in vain, the ocean, according to them, began to look different. For about an hour and a half, they searched for land in the west, after which they circled in the east for half an hour, but the land did not appear, as if the whole state did not exist at all. After some time, it was clear from radio communications that the land was found by the pilots, but for some unknown reason they did not recognize it, which is why they did not dare to land. In conclusion, the pilots heard a very strange thing about entering white water, that nothing seems right, about green water. How many then did not look for these planes - they were never found.
There are a lot of stories like this, which makes the Bermuda Triangle more mysterious and attractive. Those who are especially curious dare to purchase excursion tours around this place.
Podgoretsky castle
Love creepy haunted places? Then you need to visit the Pidhirtsi Castle, which is located in Ukraine. The building itself is very old, which is why mysticism is only multiplying. Rumor has it that a very jealous husband immured his young wife alive within the walls, who died in terrible agony. Since then, the ghost of the unfortunate woman has been wandering around the castle. At first glance, everything sounds very trivial and stories like this are a dime a dozen, but there are stories of real eyewitnesses ...
They noted the strange phenomena that took place within these walls - rustling, whispering, dull footsteps, extinguishing candles without the wind, moving objects and opening doors. To all this, eyewitnesses saw the ghost himself, and not only in the building, but also in the park. There is a lot of documentary evidence, where even the most inveterate skeptics agreed that this place is far from the most ordinary ...
Foreigners also expressed a desire to feel the energy of the Podgoretsky castle, among whom were American researchers, who recorded many paranormal phenomena that defy logic and habitual thinking. There are a lot of stories about the castle, eyewitness stories, photos and videos about this place on the Internet. However, if you can't take the word for it, can you go and check it out on your own?
Devil's Tower
This mountain resembles a man-made tower, but it is still a creation of nature, located in Wyoming. The mountain of unusual shape was formed about two hundred million years ago. The dimensions of this miracle are two and a half times the pyramid of Cheops, and in sunny weather the mountain is visible at a distance of 160 km. The local population claims that strange and incomprehensible light phenomena often occur at the top of the mountain.
This mountain has an interesting history. So, for all the time she was conquered by two - one of whom is a local resident, and the second - Jack Durrance (rock climber). And there was also a third person, whose story the Americans will remember for a long time. George Hopkins, an experienced parachutist, successfully landed on the surface of the mountain, but getting off was not an easy task. The ropes thrown off to the unfortunate fell into disrepair from hitting the rock. The planes and helicopters that came to the rescue were also useless. Even a special group was created to rescue the failed conqueror. Experienced mountaineers were invited, who conquered heights of 8 kilometers or more, but after three hours even they admitted their powerlessness in front of the mountain, whose height is just over 300 m. In order to prevent Hopkins from starving to death, helicopters dropped food and various equipment, most of which did not reach the target. It turned out that the top of the mountain was simply teeming with frenzied rats, which makes it clear that it was not easy for the poor fellow to expect salvation.
Only after some time was Durrance found, who arrived and nevertheless climbed the mountain again and took off the exhausted parachutist. Just imagine, for about a week Hopkins was held captive by this devil's tower. It's good that everything went well.
Gaiola Islands
Seemingly unremarkable islands in Italy have a rich but far from happy history. In the nineteenth century, there lived a very strange hermit, whom the people called a sorcerer. However, after several years, he suddenly disappeared under unknown circumstances and the islands remained free. After some time, a villa was erected on this site, and the islands themselves were connected to the mainland by a cable bridge. It was after these events that a series of strange tragic events began, which haunted the family of each owner of the villa. And despite the notoriety, this imaginary paradise attracted more and more victims.
In the twenties of the same century, the owner of the estate was found dead, and his body was wrapped in a carpet. A little later, the wife of the unfortunate tragically drowned at sea. The next owner died of a heart attack in this villa. A few years later, the new owner very soon ended up in a psychiatric hospital, where he voluntarily took his own life. The next victim of the island was a successful businessman, who soon went bankrupt after acquiring real estate. The subsequent three owners also could not escape the curse of the island. The first lost several close relatives overnight, the second had a grandson, and the third ended up behind bars. It was such a rich history that was enough for the island to be left alone and now it stands deserted and only the most desperate tourists dare to see it.
Bran Castle
The location of the Bran Castle is in the northwest of Romania. This is the most that neither is Dracula's castle. By the way, Bram Stoker's book about the famous Dracula was written from a real prototype, which was Vlad III Dracula, who gained fame for his cruelty and inhuman bloodthirstiness.
He dealt with his subjects and enemies very terribly and preferred to impale them alive. It cost him nothing to kill an innocent person just for the sake of his own amusement, he loved to take baths filled with blood, and preferred to dine next to corpses that were impaled on colas. In one of the cases, Dracula ordered his guards to nail the hats to the heads of foreign ambassadors with nails just because they refused to take them off in front of the ruler. The tyrant also fought the problem of poverty not in the most humane ways. Gathering the poor at one table and feeding them well, he subsequently burned them all. The people were terrified of their ruler, but at that time there was no theft or crime in the settlements. In order to prove how his possessions are clean from thefts, he ordered to install a golden cup in the very center of the capital square, from which absolutely anyone could drink, which everyone did, but no one dared to steal it. Interestingly, even after the tyrant's death, the chalice stood untouched for a quarter of a century.
He was too often cursed during his lifetime, so after the death of Dracula, many legends developed about the fact that he turned into a vampire and also continues to dwell in his castle.
Machu Picchu
A very ancient city that is located on a mountain range. It is often called the city in the sky, which sounds very romantic. The city itself was built of stones, and no mixtures were used for fastening, everything is kept under its own weight. How such an unreliable structure at first glance has stood to this day remains a mystery, and in fact it is almost 600 years old. Interestingly, the true name of the city has not yet been established, and the existing one appeared thanks to the discoverer Hiram Bingham.
The unusual location of the city itself is also surprising, which by all logic is very inconvenient - the buildings are located almost 2,500 meters above sea level. For what and for what purpose the Incas decided to settle there - another mystery for scientists. Machu Picchu was perfectly preserved, it did not suffer from the warriors, since they simply did not make it to the area, and everything looks good, but where did the residents themselves go in this case? Given the inaccessibility of the city, it is strange to assume that residents have moved to a place that is safer and more convenient for a quiet peaceful life.
For those looking to get a glimpse of Machu Picucha, a city that was listed in 2007 as the Seven Wonders of the World, it is best to hurry up. Back in 2001, a group of Japanese archaeologists reported sad data, according to which the mountain ranges on which this amazing place is located are being destroyed by erosion by 12 cm per year.
Dyatlov Pass
And to see this mysterious place, it is completely unnecessary to go on a foreign trip. This is the Northern Urals, and the exact location of the Dyatlov Pass is between the nameless height of 905 and Mount Kholatchakhl. According to legends, on this pass shamans made sacrifices to the goddess Sorni Nai. The name "Kholat Syakhil" in translation from Mansi means - the mountain of nine dead. And the modern name "Dyatlov pass" was received only in 59 of the twentieth century, when a whole group of students died in this place under mysterious circumstances.
At the beginning, the group consisted of ten people, but after a while one fell ill and decided to return, which was his salvation. The rest continued on their way, which was not destiny to complete. As soon as the group stopped communicating, a long search for them began. The first two bodies were found only from the plane.
The investigation found that the members of the expedition, for some unknown reason, in panic horror, cut the tent from the inside and rushed on the run. Some of them died of hypothermia, and the bodies of three were horrified by the investigators - they had broken ribs, punctured heads, hemorrhages, one of the girls had a tongue torn out, and two of them had radiation on their clothes.
The most primitive version of what happened was an avalanche that descended on the tent, but this was quickly refuted by experienced climbers, who did not find any traces of such a phenomenon. The version with the visit of bears and other wild animals has not been confirmed either. There are a lot of versions, but there is no final one, so the place is still a mystery. After this sad event, over the course of ten years, three plane crashes happened at the same place, and in all three cases, radiation was recorded in the air ...
Other mystical places on earth
- Molebsky Triangle. At the junction of the Sverdlovsk and Perm regions, there is a place where repeated disappearances of groups of tourists have occurred. The place and the incidents associated with it were described in detail in the nineties by the ufologist M. Shishny. At the same time, the place was investigated by sixty specialists, during which the phenomena of the atmosphere that did not lend themselves to reasonable explanation and incomprehensible glow were recorded, which were attributed to UFOs.
- The Cherepovets bog, which is located in the Volgograd region, has long had a bad reputation. Back in the year 72 of the twentieth century, many soldiers died at this place, who tried to cross the place in heavy equipment. Since, according to a terrible tradition, several local residents and tourists disappear next to the swamp every year, as well as cases of strange suicides.
- In the Pskov region, near the village of Lyada, there is a Devil's ravine, it should be said that the name fully justifies itself. As in most places like this, people here regularly disappear under mysterious circumstances, and those who, by some happy accident, manage to leave, cannot remember anything. In addition to memory, in a large number of cases people also lost their minds.
- A lot of unexplained and incomprehensible deaths happen in Death Valley, which is located in the Mojave Desert in the western United States. Walking along it you can see many corpses of birds and animals. For 80 years, more than a hundred people died in the same area, who were strong and healthy before the trip. But that's not all. Death Valley is the bottom of a once dried up lake. And now a very strange phenomenon is noted there, over which scientists have been racking their brains for several years. On the ground in a chaotic direction, stones are moving by themselves! They do this slowly but surely, leaving furrows behind. Where exactly they are going and how they generally go remains a mystery.
- In a secluded place in Nevada, there is a very interesting natural formation called the Devil's Hole. This is a very large space in the ground, the depth of which has not yet been measured. In the 120-meter deepening of the hole, a lake begins, filled with groundwater, and its depth, of course, is unknown. Analyzes have shown an abnormal content of heavy hydrogen in the sediments on the walls of the hole. In such conditions, not a single plant can grow, and if an animal is regularly given such a liquid, it will die of thirst. Nevertheless, it is in these waters that very rare species of fish successfully live and reproduce.
Unfortunately, it is simply impossible to describe all the places that in one way or another have a strange and mysterious history in one article, therefore only the smallest part of what can be wondered and what can shock is presented here. Of course, there is practically no chance that sooner or later mankind will be able to solve the mysteries of mysterious places. Probably, indeed, there is something higher, something reasonable, which cannot be cognized, but it is with the help of such a connection that people receive information that there is something otherworldly, and at the same time it is not at all once again possible to accept that the fact that even the impossible can be quite possible.
