Every woman knows how important it is to thoroughly remove makeup before going to bed. Selecting a good quality product that gently and effectively cleanses the skin is not an easy task. What is micellar water used for?
Micellar water is a special cosmetic product used for delicate skin. If previously it was used to wash children and fight skin diseases such as psoriasis, now micellar water is also used by women for makeup remover, cleansing the skin of sweat and various impurities. This water is also useful for deeper cleansing, as it soothes irritated skin.
Micellar water: composition
Micellar water consists of micelles - small crystals that penetrate deep into the skin without causing harm to it. These crystals act like a small sponge that gently collects all impurities. Thanks to their gentle effects, micellar water has clear advantages over other cleansers:
- it absorbs dirt very well, the skin is perfectly cleansed even from waterproof cosmetics;
- acts gently on the skin without harming it;
- nourishes and moisturizes well;
- after its application there is no greasy film left, as with some other cleansing products;
- There is no need to rinse it off, so it’s good to take this water with you on trips.
This product is remarkable because it does not contain soap or alcohol, so it does not dry out the skin at all. Cosmetologists have improved the composition of micellar water, so hypoallergenic fragrances, vitamins, and essential oils are often added during its production.
How to use micellar water
As for the recommendations for using micellar water, they are very simple. The bottle needs to be shaken well, after which the product is applied to a cotton pad and wiped over the face. Makeup should be removed from the inner corner of the eyes to the outer corner. In principle, you should not wash your face with ordinary water containing chlorine after using micellar water, especially for people suffering from skin diseases. However, some women do this because any cleanser still causes some feeling of tightness. So here everything is decided individually.
You can also use micellar water in the morning as a tonic in the form of ice cubes. This method of application helps to remove swelling, often occurring in the morning, refreshes the skin and makes it radiant.
Micellar water with oils
Micellar water enriched with nourishing oils is a new product in the cosmetology industry. This combination instantly eliminates any impurities, so it is even more effective; even waterproof mascara dissolves instantly.
Argan and other types of oils are used for such products. The nutrients they contain soothe the skin, relieve irritation and any signs of fatigue.
In addition, micellar water has a very light structure, so even in combination with oil it will not leave a greasy film. In addition, it has a very pleasant floral aroma that calms and promotes better sleep.
Micellar water: reviews
As for reviews about the use of micellar water, in most cases, customers are satisfied with their choice. Now it is produced by a fairly large number of manufacturers, mainly French brands: Vichy, Garnier, L'Oreal, Yves Rocher and some others.
Every woman prefers one or another manufacturer, but most note the advantages of micellar over other types of cleansers: foams, lotions, milk. It is not very suitable only for those who like to apply a large amount of cosmetics to their face: in this case, it is better to choose cleansers containing acids, but micellar water does not contain them.
Customers note that micellar water cleanses the skin very gently, without causing irritation to the skin and eyes, has a delicate structure and is quite affordable. True, water enriched with oils will cost about a third more.
