What is micellar water for?
Micellar water is a special cosmetic product used for delicate skin. If earlier it was used to wash children and fight skin diseases such as psoriasis, now micellar water is also used by women for make-up removal, cleansing the skin from sweat and various impurities. This water is also useful for deeper cleansing, as it soothes irritated skin.
Micellar water: composition
Micellar water consists of micelles - small crystals that penetrate deep into the skin without harming it. These crystals act like a small sponge, gently picking up all impurities. Thanks to their gentle action, micellar water has clear advantages over other cleansers:
- it absorbs dirt very well, the skin is perfectly cleansed even from waterproof cosmetics;
- acts gently on the skin without harming it;
- nourishes and moisturizes well;
- after its application, a greasy film does not remain, as with some other cleansing agents;
- it does not need to be washed off, so it is good to take this water with you on trips.
This product is remarkable in that it does not contain soap and alcohols, therefore it does not dry the skin at all. Cosmetologists have improved the composition of micellar water, so hypoallergenic fragrances, vitamins, and essential oils are often added during its production.
How to use micellar water
As for the recommendations for using micellar water, they are very simple. The bottle must be shaken well, after which, the product is applied to a cotton pad and wiped on the face. Make-up should be removed from the inner corner of the eyes to the outer corner. Washing with ordinary water containing chlorine, after micellar water, in principle, is not worth it, especially for people suffering from skin diseases. However, some women do this, as any cleanser will still cause some feeling of tightness. So everything is decided individually.
Micellar water can also be used in the morning as a tonic in the form of ice cubes. This method of application helps to remove swelling, often occurring in the morning, refreshes the skin and makes it glow.
Micellar water with oils
Micellar water enriched with nourishing oils is a novelty in the cosmetic industry. This combination instantly removes any dirt, therefore it works even more effectively, even waterproof mascara instantly dissolves.
For such products, argan and other types of oils are used. The nutrients they contain soothe the skin, relieve irritation and any signs of fatigue.
In addition, micellar water has a very light structure, therefore, even in combination with oil, it will not leave a greasy film. In addition, it has a very pleasant floral scent that soothes and promotes better sleep.
Micellar water: reviews
As for reviews on the use of micellar water, in most cases, customers are satisfied with their choice. Now it is produced by a fairly large number of manufacturers, mainly French brands: Vichy, Garnier, Loreal, Yves Rocher and some others.
Every woman prefers one or another manufacturer, but the majority notes the advantages of micellar over other types of cleansers: foams, lotions, milk. It is not very suitable only for those who like to apply a large amount of cosmetics on their face: in this case, it is better to choose cleansers containing acids, but they are not in micellar water.
Customers note that micellar water cleanses the skin very gently, without causing irritation to the skin and eyes, has a delicate structure and is quite acceptable. True, water enriched with oils will cost about a third more.
