Home Health Pregnancy Obstruction of the fallopian tubes: symptoms, causes, consequences

Obstruction of the fallopian tube is a serious pathology that is quite common in women. Usually this phenomenon occurs due to serious inflammation or sexually transmitted diseases. The consequences of this disease are also the most serious - mainly problems with the birth of a child.

Symptoms of obstruction of the fallopian tubes

Outwardly, obstruction does not in any way affect a woman's well-being. The woman does not feel any changes in the menstrual cycle or in sensations these days. Poor patency can only be assumed when signs of an inflammatory process appear in the tubes of the uterus. It can be pain in the lower abdomen, high body temperature.

h3 The most important symptom of this ailment is not the onset of pregnancy, when a woman is constantly engaged having sex without protection. It is possible to suspect the presence of obstruction when a woman constantly ovulates, her genitals have a normal structure, and pregnancy still does not occur.

Causes of obstruction of the fallopian tubes

The phenomenon of obstruction of the tubes of the uterus can be divided into several subspecies:

  • The tubes of the uterus are completely impassable.
  • There is an obstruction in one of the pipes.
  • Adhesions formed in the immediate vicinity of the uterus.
  • The uterine tube is only partially obstructed. Then the contractile processes of the muscles of the fallopian tube are disrupted and the egg cannot move normally along it. This can lead to an ectopic pregnancy.
  • The villi of the tube of the uterus have lost the ability to capture and direct the egg in the right direction.

In all these cases, the fallopian tube is clogged from the inside or due to squeezing of the fallopian tube from the outside as a result of the formation of adhesions.

n Among the reasons for the formation of obstruction, several main ones can be distinguished:

  • Diseases of the inflammatory appendages can be acute or latent. The latter option is possible with infectious diseases such as ureaplasmosis, chlamydia and others. The acute form of these diseases requires a hospital stay with appropriate treatment and subsequent therapy against adhesion formation. But when the disease proceeds in a latent form, pus, mucus and other formations accumulate inside the pipe and fill the passage. If the appropriate therapy is not carried out, then adhesions and scars appear on the walls of the tube, closing the narrow passages.
  • Surgical manipulations of any nature, which can also lead to an adhesive process that affects the patency of the uterine tubes.
  • Various manipulations inside the uterus, including abortion.
  • Endometriosis
  • Having an ectopic before pregnancy.
  • Wrong congenital formation of this organ.
  • Overgrowth of polyps or tumors of a different nature in the tubes of the uterus.

Keep in mind that the more often a woman has inflammation of the appendages of the uterus, the higher the risk of developing obstruction.

Obstruction of the fallopian tubes: what is the danger

The most important danger of this disease is that a woman cannot get pregnant in a normal way. To be more precise, a woman develops infertility. Hence, psychological problems arise - a woman feels inferior, she develops depression about this. The result is real trouble.

n4 According to statistics, about twenty percent of couples who have problems with conception experience such difficulties precisely because of the obstruction of the woman's tubes.

Treatment of obstruction of the fallopian tubes

If, as a result of diagnostic studies, a woman was diagnosed with obstruction of the fallopian tubes, then the treatment is primarily aimed at eliminating the root cause. For this purpose, it is imperative to conduct a high-quality examination, and then, based on its results, therapeutic therapy is prescribed.

n2 The obstruction can be treated with medication or surgery. The first type of treatment is chosen if it is required to eliminate the inflammatory process. With this development, a woman is prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics to suppress pathogenic bacteria and hormonal drugs to prevent trophic disorders. Often, in addition to medications, physiotherapeutic procedures are prescribed. It can be electrostimulation, ultrasound therapy, gynecological massage, balneotherapy, medicinal electropharesis.

If drug treatment does not work, then it becomes necessary to solve the problem surgically. Most often, the operation is performed laparoscopically using special equipment through small incisions. If the volume of pathology is large, then the operation is performed by the laparotomy method. Such an operation is necessary to remove neoplasms or peritonitis. Reconstructive surgery can be performed for very serious pathologies. In this case, artificial materials are used to expand the lumen of the pipe. Sometimes this method of treatment is the only chance a woman has for a successful pregnancy.

It should be noted that surgery is not used in all cases. Most often, such treatment poses a great risk to women's health, much more than the obstruction of the fallopian tubes itself.
