The fashion for blonde hair among women has been around for a very long time. Even ancient ladies lightened their hair with various available means. In the time of our grandmothers, they began to use aggressive agents, for example, hydrogen peroxide. Today we’ll talk about how to turn blonde with the help of simple hydrogen peroxide.

Peroxide for hair

Although in recent years many lightening agents have appeared that are much less aggressive, the use of hydrogen peroxide to obtain a light shade of hair continues to this day. The secret of such popularity of this reagent is quite simple - this substance acts very quickly and lightens the hair as much as the woman herself wishes. But modern lighteners are unlikely to allow a burning brunette to turn into a dazzling blonde.

n2 This is where the most important danger lies. In an effort to lighten their hair as much as possible, ladies go to extreme measures and keep the lightening product on their hair until the very last moment. As a result, the hair receives a powerful dose of the reagent.

The effect of peroxide on curls is quite simple. By reacting with the surrounding air, peroxide bleaches the pigment in the hair, and the hair becomes lighter in tone. Moreover, the longer the reaction time, the more the curls become discolored. This is where the term “bleached hair” comes from.

In order to reduce the discoloration time, ammonia is added to hydrogen peroxide. As a result, a violent reaction occurs and oxygen is formed faster. In this case, the lightening mixture penetrates deeper into the hair. It is very important to maintain the correct dosage so as not to damage your hair.

n1 If you do not dry your hair naturally, but use a hair dryer, be sure to use thermal protection. These products will protect your curls from the harmful effects of high temperatures. Remember that it is better to use the cool setting of the hairdryer for bleached hair. At the time of year when the sun is shining brightly, use products with sunscreen filters on your hair.
