Funds home cosmetics do not compare in quality with store ones. Only healthy ingredients are included in their composition. Of course, the absence of preservatives, parabens and other chemical additives imposes certain requirements and shortens the shelf life of homemade lipsticks.
To make your own lipstick, you will need:
- A stick or spoon made of glass or wood, with which you will mix the ingredients.
- Small container for heating components.
- A syringe without a needle for pouring out the liquid composition. It greatly simplifies the process.
- A small jar or tube in which the prepared lipstick will be stored. In this capacity, you can use used lipstick cases.
Self-made lipsticks consist of the following components:
- Beeswax, which is purchased in craft shops or from beekeepers. In case of intolerance to beekeeping products, bees wax is replaced with carnauba wax.
- Vegetable oils. Both solid and liquid forms are suitable: almond, coconut oil, olive oil, mango or shea butter.
- Choose non-harsh, non-irritating flavors, such as the smell of vanilla.
- Store food colors or use herbal ingredients. For example, to obtain a brown tint, add cocoa, a copper-red tint will give turmeric powder, after adding cinnamon powder, you will get a dark red color, and adding, beet juice, get a bright shade of red.
- If desired, nourishing oils and a variety of blends are included in the lipstick ingredients.
- If you want to get a matte lipstick, then add bentonite clay.

To prepare hygienic natural lipstick, grind a tablespoon of beeswax with a grater and dissolve it in a water bath. In a separate bowl, warm 1 large spoonful of jojoba oil and 75 g of olive oil. Pour 15 g of alkane root powder into this mixture of oils. After that, leave the mixture to infuse until it is colored. Then the oil is filtered and melted wax is added. Mix everything well, add 8 drops of rose oil and pour into molds.
To make a translucent lipstick, 50 g of wax are heated in a water bath. In small portions, add the same amount of oil extracts from grape seeds and wheat germ oil in a volume of 25 g. When the mass becomes homogeneous, a pre-selected dye is introduced. If you add a tablespoon of mickey, you get a pearlescent lipstick. All are mixed well again, poured into storage containers and cooled.
To make a fashionable matte lipstick, melt 70 g of wax and add 55 g castor oil and the same amount of jojoba oil in succession. In a separate container, dilute 2 large spoons of the chosen colorant with a small amount of any vegetable oil and mix with the contents of the first container. For a matte finish, add a small spoonful of bentonite clay and stir again thoroughly. When the mass has cooled slightly and begins to thicken, put it in pre-prepared containers.
