How to treat sunburn

Apply a wet compress immediately to the affected area. This will relieve pain and retain moisture in the skin. Keep this compress on your skin for about 20 minutes. If possible, immerse yourself in a bath of room temperature water.

Sunburn remedy

At this time, a lot of effective drugs are sold that alleviate the condition after a sunburn. The most effective are the following:

  • Lubricate burned areas with zinc ointment to relieve irritation and inflammation. It should be applied to dry skin every 4-6 hours. Bandages can be used. If there are open wounds, then it is impossible to smear them with zinc ointment.
  • For anesthesia and disinfection of the burn area, apply Bioflorin cream to the affected areas. This product forms a protective film and helps to reduce discomfort. It can be used several times a day.

  • If the degree of skin damage is small, then D-Panthenol cream can be applied. It is applied in a thin layer, you can rub it in lightly. Use it four times a day, more often. D-Panthenol can be purchased as a cream, spray, or ointment.

How not to get sunburned

To reduce the risk of getting burned, start your sunbathing with a few minutes. The first sessions should not last longer than 20 minutes. If you have delicate pale skin, this time should be even shorter. Be sure to lubricate your skin with special products to protect from the active sun. Apply the product 20 minutes before going outside.

Remember that sun protection needs to be renewed every two or three hours. Indeed, during this time, the cream loses about half of its sunscreen properties. At the same time, try not to skimp on the cream. You should spend at least 20 ml of the product on one application.

Try not to go out in the sun during its peak hours. It is known that the sun's rays are more aggressive during the hours from 11 am to 4 pm. Therefore, at this time it is better to be in the shade. If you burn yourself very quickly, then at this time it is better to go into the room altogether, or at least hide under a canopy.
