Eyebrow tattoo
Eyebrow tattooing is the most common type of permanent makeup today. And this is quite understandable: for example, if you can choose the color of lipstick for your lips according to your mood, or not dye them at all, then with the eyebrows the situation is different. It is unlikely that any self-respecting girl will leave the house with sloppy eyebrows, not plucked or tinted. And in order not to waste time on this daily ritual every time, girls resort to such drastic measures as tattooing.

Permanent makeup, like many other things, came to us from America. It was there that resourceful plastic surgeon Rovell Bird first used a tattoo machine for other purposes, filling in the large voids between his patient's eyelashes. This was the beginning of a new direction in cosmetology, and already in 1990 the first special device for permanent make-up appeared. But, nevertheless, cosmetic tattooing is still a kind of regular tattoo. The only difference is that with permanent make-up, paint pigments are not injected as deeply under the skin as when printing drawings on the body, due to which they only stay there for up to 5 years.
Eyebrow tattoo was originally designed for women who naturally have light, sparse or asymmetrical eyebrows that cannot be corrected by ordinary plucking and a pencil. But soon the girls began to actively use this service simply in order not to waste time every morning on tinting and plucking their eyebrows.

Eyebrow tattoo techniques
With the help of modern techniques of permanent makeup, you can change your face beyond recognition, because it is the eyebrows that are the basis of your face, they give it a mood, expression and correct features and even type. If you are a natural owner round face, then with your eyebrows you can adjust it, visually giving the shape of an almost perfect oval. Or if you just always dreamed of eyebrows "spread out", with a beautiful bend, but by nature you have rare, straight eyebrows - now it is possible to make this dream a reality.
An experienced master will select a technique for your permanent makeup, based on what result you expect to get in the end. To achieve the most natural effect, the specialist can mix several techniques and shades of paint. But still, there are two main techniques for permanent eyebrow makeup, from which many other methods follow.
- Hair method. The name speaks for itself: the master draws individual missing hairs, either of different lengths and widths (Eastern hair technique), or standard, one-to-one, with the same angle of inclination of 45 degrees and spacing (European hair technique). At the same time, shades of paint are selected slightly darker and lighter than the main eyebrow. Thanks to this, the effect of volume appears and the hairs look like real ones. With the European hair technique, each hair is slightly rounded to the tip to visually give the eyebrows a slight bend. The eastern hair technique is not within the power of every master, it is quite difficult to make such a tattoo and it takes several times more time than with the European technique. But a tattoo done in this way will be very difficult for an ordinary person to notice and will serve you longer than other methods. This way you can mask the scars on the eyebrows where, as a rule, the hairs no longer grow. Also, the technique is suitable for those who want to change the shape of their own eyebrows, or for those who are practically absent by nature.
- Shooting. In essence, this is an advanced oriental hair technique. The master also draws individual hairs, but each of them differs from each other not only in the angle of inclination, length and width, but also in color: several shades can be concentrated in one hair - dark at the base, and light at the end. In addition, with the final touch, the master shades the applied paint pigments and the eyebrow turns out to be more decorative, smooth, without clear contours and as if tinted with shadows.
Skin preparation before eyebrow tattooing
Having decided on such a procedure, first of all, you must clearly understand and imagine what kind of result you want to get in the end. Find the perfect shape for your face type. Of course, an experienced master can do all this at his discretion, but keep in mind that your tastes may not fundamentally coincide with the tastes and preferences of even the best master, but already made permanent makeup fix will be problematic enough.
Before starting his work, a competent craftsman must wear sterile gloves, check with you if there are any contraindications, check the cleanliness of the device and disinfect the area of your eyebrows. If at least one point from this is not fulfilled, in any case, do not continue the procedure with this specialist! In addition, a qualified professional will never remove or shave off your eyebrows: on the contrary, he must adhere to their growth and go strictly along your hairs.
Eyebrow tattooing - procedure
- The expert, together with you, selects the color and shape of the eyebrows, suitable for your type of face, determines the technique, depending on your expected result.
- Prepares the necessary sterile instruments and disinfects your skin.
- Draws the borders of the eyebrows with an indelible marker.
- With a special device, the master draws each hair according to the method you have chosen, without going beyond the boundaries of the marker.
- Both eyebrows are treated with anesthesia gel, as the procedure is extremely painful. If your pain threshold is low, you can also ask a specialist to give you an injection with anesthesia.
- As soon as the anesthesia has worked, the most difficult stage begins for both you and the master. With a special needle machine, the specialist draws each hair along the outlined lines several times.
- With an antibacterial alcohol-free solution, the master removes paint residues from the skin.
Crusts during the healing period of eyebrow tattoo
As you already know, with permanent make-up, the paint gets under the skin due to many piercing of the epidermis with a thin needle. The skin on the face is very delicate and thin, and after such a painful procedure, irritation and redness may appear for several days - this is normal after such significant damage.
Immediately after the procedure, the skin of the eyebrows will be covered with a layer of ichor - this is a protective reaction of the body, because he no longer knows what else to expect from you. A huge mistake that clients often make after tattooing is an attempt to wipe off eyebrows, caked blood and ichor.
As with any tattoo, painful crusts form on the eyebrows after tattooing. Moreover, the thicker the ichor layer was, the thicker the crusts will be. In no case should they be removed on their own: this is fraught with various complications and infection. During the healing period, it is also not recommended to visit the sauna, swimming pool, solarium - you cannot steam your face. Do not use face products containing chemicals - there is a risk that the paint may react. Do not rub your brows and eyes with a towel or hands. No specialist will be able to answer how long your skin will heal - it all depends on the characteristics of your body, you can only help it a little with special healing agents.
How long does eyebrow tattoo last
One of the reasons why women choose permanent makeup is because of its long-lasting properties. Eyebrow tattooing lasts from a year to 5 years. It also depends on the technique chosen - if the paint is not deeply injected into the skin, then, of course, it will dissolve much faster - and on your lifestyle and skin care. If you spend a lot of time in the sun and tanning beds, you often use scrubs and peels, you will have to repeat the procedure a little more often.
Eyebrow tattoo correction
It is important to remember that the desired eyebrow color will appear only after a month, therefore, if you do not see the desired result, do not be discouraged ahead of time. It is the month that the skin needs to completely renew the surface cells. Until that time, the color of the eyebrows will be unnaturally bright. But even if you absolutely didn’t like the tattoo either in shape or color, do not rush to injure the skin again, wait until it returns to its normal state.
In any case, exactly one month later you will need to make a tattoo correction: correct the color, small irregularities, the shape of the eyebrows - neither you nor even the most experienced artist will immediately see the final result, much depends on your skin care and its features.
Eyebrow tattoo care
In order to see the result as close as possible to your expectations in a month, a lot will depend on your efforts.
- During the healing period, try not to wet or injure the fresh tattoo area.
- The skin can ache and ache severely, if necessary, take an anesthetic, but if the pain is such that there is no strength to endure it, it makes sense to consult a doctor.
- Do not sunbathe in a solarium or spend time in the sun for the first 20-30 days.
- Many experts recommend applying special products to the skin - color fixers. Test for an allergic reaction before taking their advice.
- Moisturize your skin with eucalyptus, rosemary oil.
- Never tear off or scratch the crusts.
- If you have tattooed in the winter, avoid chapping and hypothermia of the skin.
Ointment after eyebrow tattooing
Observing all the recommendations for leaving, your skin will give you much less discomfort and soreness. For early healing, doctors recommend the use of medicines. One of these remedies with the most positive reviews is the D-Panthenol ointment, - it is not noticeable on the skin, and with regular use for a week 2-4 times a day, the crusts will heal and stop hurting and itching after 4-5 days. It's all about the large amount of panthenolic acid contained in the ointment, which is extremely necessary for damaged skin.
Eyebrow tattoo removal
The month promised by the master has passed, the color has changed, the shape has been corrected, and you are still unhappy with the result. Well, that often happens.
- Some advise contacting the same master: he can paint over his own strokes with paint to match the color of the skin. The method, of course, is risky, painful, but sometimes it works. In fact, this is a new eyebrow tattoo, but on just healed, thin skin that has not fully matured and will heal even longer.
- There is also chemical removal: a special composition literally burns the paint out from under the skin. This option is categorically not suitable for sensitive skin, scars may remain.
- For very courageous women, doctors use surgical removal of tattoo: under local anesthesia, the surgeon wields a scalpel. Effective, but very painful, and again, scars cannot be avoided.
- Electrocoagulation. The tattoo is completely removed in just one procedure using electric currents. The disadvantage of this method is the long healing of the skin.
- Laser removal. Leaves the best result, but requires long skin care, several procedures and a lot of money.
How to fix an unsuccessful eyebrow tattoo
Minor cost savings, the choice of an insufficiently experienced, but "familiar" master and other "little things" can lead to terrible consequences: floating paint, different heights and shapes of eyebrows, and other troubles on your face. One way or another, when deciding on permanent makeup, you should be ready for this, even if the specialist has many positive reviews.
If a month after the procedure has long passed, you performed the correction, but all to no avail, there are only two ways left:
- Laser. By heating the inner layers of the skin, the laser beam destroys the coloring pigment and thereby removes the paint. Modern technologies do not allow the laser to penetrate the skin deeper than the layer where the pigment is located, so there are no burns and scars on the face. An effective procedure, after which only redness will remain on the skin for 2-3 weeks.
- Remover. Less painful and less expensive than a laser, and sometimes even more effective. This is a chemical agent, when applied to the eyebrows, after a long enough time, it will draw the dye to the surface of the skin. The remover is by no means recommended for use on sensitive skin or on areas that are too close to mucous membranes, for example, on the eyelids and between the eyelashes.
It also happens that in the first few years you are very pleased with your permanent makeup, but after a couple of years you begin to notice that the paint, instead of fading, on the contrary, acquires a bright blue or unnaturally reddish hue. This is how unscrupulous specialists are identified who, in order to save money, use synthetic-based tattoo pigments in their arsenal. At the same time, in one way or another, age-related changes begin to occur with your face and the eyebrows literally “blur” and drop.

Eyebrow tattooing contraindications
Any permanent make-up has a lot of contraindications, regardless of which part of the face you choose: eyebrows, lips or eyelids.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, HIV, herpes, cancer, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, allergic reactions, conjunctivitis, poor blood clotting, mental illness and much more. Also, the permanent make-up procedure is not recommended for exacerbation of chronic diseases, hypertension, allergies and on critical days. Cons of eyebrow tattoo
Before deciding on permanent makeup, you need to not only blindly consider the benefits of tattooing and present the expected result, but also weigh well all the disadvantages, which, as well as the advantages, are many.
- If the lip tattoo, if necessary, can still be painted over with a dark lipstick tone, then there is nothing you can do about the eyebrows. Are you sure you don't want to change in the next five years?
- You take risks and worry even when you go to make a new one. haircut but hair will grow back much faster than new skin. In addition, with tattooing, there is a great risk of infecting, getting a deplorable result, entirely dependent on a stranger.
- If the master's mistake can be corrected (which also does not always happen, it is important to take this into account), then it will cost a certain amount of money, nerves and spoiled mood for a long time.
- Much depends on the characteristics of your body. Even being completely confident in the master, your skin may have its own plans.
- Soreness of the procedure, allergic reactions to paint pigments and anesthesia.
Eyebrow tattoo reviews
Reviews of eyebrow tattooing are very different: a lot depends on the chosen master, skin characteristics and expected results. It's up to you whether to risk your face like that or you can still afford to devote 10-15 minutes to your natural eyebrows in the morning.
