Blackheads: causes, elimination, prevention
Even an ideal face without acne or wrinkles can be marred by blackheads. They appear suddenly and are difficult to eliminate. But there is really nothing fatal. The main thing is to understand the reasons for their occurrence, understand how to deal with them correctly and remember what needs to be done to prevent them. This is exactly what we will talk about today.

Black dots - reasons
Blackheads can appear in absolutely anyone, regardless of age and gender. Even if they are completely absent on the face acne, but at the same time there are comedones, this does not make it any easier for anyone.
The main cause of blackheads is blockage of pores due to the secretion of excess sebum by the glands, onto which dust and particles of the epidermis settle. Due to dirt getting into the sebum, the dots become black.
People with combination and oily skin are most prone to the appearance of comedones, and if we talk about the facial area, this is the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin).
There are several reasons why blackheads may appear. The first, common one, is improper skin care. Few people pay attention to what type of skin they have. Hence the inharmonious choice of creams, scrubs, lotions and masks. It is necessary to cleanse your face 2 times a day: morning and evening. It is especially important to follow the rule in the summer, when the oiliness of the skin increases manifold. Never go to bed without removing your makeup.
The second reason, also not uncommon, is poor nutrition. Sweet, fatty, salty, fried, no matter how trite it may sound, very strongly provokes clogging of pores. Everything is quite understandable and logical. Normally, sebum has a fairly liquid structure and passes out through the tubules without problems. Products and dishes that fit the characteristics described above make the sebum thick and dense. As a result, it cannot calmly go out and stops “halfway”. The pores begin to expand from such tension. If you do not carry out the cleaning procedure, then the constantly secreted sebum will accumulate in such quantities that it will provoke inflammation, in the form of a pimple or an abscess.
Other reasons are hormonal changes occurring in the body (women are especially susceptible to this) and the use of low-quality cosmetics.
How to cleanse your face
Cleansing can be divided into two types: deep and superficial. The first is carried out 1-2 times a week with the use of a sauna and scrubs. The second is done daily in order to remove cosmetics and impurities that have settled on the skin during the day.
It is highly recommended not to wash your face with plain running water. In cities, running water has an unsightly chemical composition, which can even contain bleach. This negatively affects the overall condition of the skin. The ideal option for washing is melt water. Just create a supply in the freezer and defrost water in portions. In addition, it is better to abandon the usual soap, replacing it with special products that, in addition to cleansing properties, provide caring properties. These can be various foams and gels. If you are an avid soap lover, use the tar variety of the product. This is a natural antiseptic that perfectly cleanses and cares, but can dry out the skin, so after washing it is better to use moisturizers.
An interesting option for washing is with a clay solution. For cleansing it is better to choose blue, but this is not so critical. Take a small amount of the product and dissolve with water. Wash your face with the resulting mixture - you will be amazed at the effect. For problem skin, clay can be dissolved with lemon juice. When washing this way, it is important that the composition does not get into your eyes.
1-2 times a week, thoroughly steam your face using a sauna (you can buy a special one, or just hold your face over boiling water). After this, carry out all deep cleaning procedures (scrubs and masks). Upon completion, do not forget to close the pores by lubricating the skin with a special lotion, or simply wiping the skin with an ice cube.
Black mask for blackheads
Recently, the Internet has been subjected to a new wave of excitement dedicated to the emergence of a unique product, according to the manufacturer, for removing blackheads - a black mask. Loud advertising did its job, and the overwhelming number of girls already managed to purchase and try it on themselves. Some were disappointed, others were delighted.
The black mask against comedones has a liquid but dense texture, which is distributed over the steamed skin of the face and remains on it for about 15-20 minutes. During this time, the composition turns into a film. The latter is carefully but confidently removed from the face and one is happy with the result. Not everyone can achieve the effect that is shown in advertising brochures, but the result that comes out can be obtained through ordinary masks sold in cosmetic stores for a more affordable price.
In addition, large-scale advertising around the world has given rise to a huge number of scammers who sell a surrogate under the guise of the original, and for huge sums of money. It is difficult to distinguish an honest seller from a swindler. Therefore, before placing an order, find out as much information as possible about the supplier, but not what is available on the store’s website (it is 99% false and made up), but on third-party independent resources.
Charcoal for blackheads
Regular activated carbon, the price of which rarely exceeds 10 rubles, is very popular among those who fight for beautiful skin. This natural product cleanses pores of impurities with a bang and has a beneficial effect on the overall condition of the skin.
DIY black mask
You can make a film mask from black coal that will help get rid of not only blackheads, but also acne.
Dissolve gelatin (a teaspoon) in milk (a couple of teaspoons), add activated carbon crushed into crumbs (one tablet). Mix everything and heat in a water bath until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Apply the cooled mixture to well-steamed skin. The mask should remain on the face until completely dry. After this, carefully remove the film from your face and enjoy the effect.
Coal and clay
Clay itself is excellent in terms of cleansing, and in combination with charcoal you can get a double effect. Combine a standard amount of clay with a couple of crushed activated carbon tablets. Dilute with water until a paste forms. Apply the composition to the skin for 15 minutes.
Coal with water
A very simple recipe. Crush three tablets of the drug, add water and apply the mixture to your face. As soon as the composition dries a little, wash it off.
Blackhead Remedy
There are a great variety of remedies for blackheads, ranging from store-bought to homemade preparations. It is simply impossible to name the best remedies in this area, since each of them gives different indicators for each individual person. This is due to the individuality of the body and, importantly, the correct operation. Regardless of what exactly you are going to use to fight comedones: be it patches, gels or specialized films, always steam your skin thoroughly before doing this! Think for yourself, if sebum could come out “dry,” then in this case blackheads would not form at all. Without opening the pores, not a single product, even the most advanced one, will give any result. Your task is to help the skin cleanse. Read reviews of the drugs you are interested in, and then choose the one you like best.
Homemade masks for blackheads
Don't underestimate the potential of homemade masks. Their effectiveness is almost on par with store-bought drugs, or even higher, but unlike the latter, the former have a 100% natural composition that is not capable of harm (except for possible allergic reactions).
- Combine the white of one egg with a tablespoon of sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. First, apply half the mask to your face and wait until it dries. Then apply another layer of the remaining mask on top and start vigorously patting yourself on the face, paying special attention to problem areas.
- Mix a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice with the same amount of aloe juice and add the white of one egg. Beat until foam forms. Apply part of the mask to your face (exclusively to places where there are blackheads). After the first layer has dried, apply the second. After a quarter of an hour, rinse off.
- Lather some soap and add a teaspoon of baking soda to the foam. Massage your well-steamed face with a scrub in problem areas. Don't press too hard. Leave the mask on your face for 5 minutes, then wash.
- Combine a tablespoon of crushed rolled oats, a pinch of soda and 3 drops of boric acid in a bowl. Pour kefir over the entire mixture to form a thick porridge. Apply the mask to problem areas of the face and leave for 15 minutes.
- You can regularly make simple masks with white clay. Just dissolve the purchased powder with water, in the proportions indicated in the instructions, and apply to your face. After 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water.
- Lubricate your face with fatty kefir, leave it on the skin for half an hour, and then wash it off. This simple recipe can give good results.
Prevention of blackheads
It is much easier to prevent any problem than to deal with existing ones. The same applies to blackheads. Getting rid of them is so problematic that it is much easier to organize daily procedures for their prevention. We bring to your attention several basic measures, following which you will never know what blackheads are again.
- Do facial saunas 1-2 times a week. They will open the pores and help remove all the dirt from them.
- After the sauna, do not neglect procedures that will close the pores. Otherwise, new contaminants will easily penetrate into them.
- Use cosmetics that are exclusively suitable for your skin type. Because inappropriate care in the form of a greasy cream can clog pores.
- Wash your face with cool water. It’s great if you prepare decoctions of various herbs, such as chamomile or calendula, specifically for these purposes. They will have a tonic and restorative effect.
- Try to minimize the use of foundation and powder, they also contribute to clogging of pores, especially in the summer.
- Exfoliate your face regularly to free your skin from dead skin cells. In addition to cleansing, this will be a wonderful prevention of aging.
- Make face masks suitable for your skin type 2-3 times a week. The optimal duration of a course of one mask is one to one and a half months. After this, you should give the skin a rest, or switch to another recipe. Otherwise, the skin will get used to the established recipe and will not produce any effect.
