Home beauty Hydrophilic oil: how to do it yourself and how to use it

For most people, washing with oil is a rather unusual procedure. At first glance, this is generally impossible. But in fact, there is a special oil that can be used to cleanse the skin. This oil is called hydrophilic.

What is Hydrophilic Oil

Under normal conditions, water and butter never mix. Only with vigorous shaking do these liquids form an emulsion - a mixture of water and small oil droplets. However, this state of fluids is unstable and soon they separate again. On the skin, the oil even forms a dense film that is difficult to wash off. It clogs pores and prevents the skin from breathing. To remove it, you must use special products with a degreasing effect.

r1 Hydrophilic oil contains a special substance called an emulsifier. It prevents the emulsion from separating into two liquids. As a result, the oil acquires hydrophilic properties and is well washed off from the surface of the skin.

As a result, cleansing with hydrophilic oil does not lead to a dense film on the skin and does not cause an oily sheen. The natural protective layer of the dermis is not disturbed. In this regard, even girls with dry and sensitive skin do not have a feeling of tight skin after cleansing it.

The hydrophilic oil can be used not only on the skin, but also to cleanse the hair instead of shampoo and conditioner. To do this, you need to make an emulsion of hydrophilic oil and apply it to the hair. You can do this directly on your hair, or you can first make an emulsion in a separate container, and only then apply it to your hair. For best results, put a cap on your head and hold the mask for a quarter of an hour.

Another way to use hydrophilic oil is to cleanse your hands or intimate area. It gently cleanses mucous membranes and skin, since neither alkali nor acid is included in the composition, which means it does not change the pH balance of the skin. You can also use this product for massage.

Hydrophilic Facial Cleansing Oil

This cleansing agent acts on the principle that substances that are similar to each other are mutually dissolved. For this reason, this product can quickly and easily remove excess sebum and pore secretions.

r4 How to cleanse with a hydrophilic oil:

  1. Wash and dry your hands.
  2. Apply hydrophilic oil with your hands to dry face.
  3. To make massage face for 5 minutes. During this time, impurities and makeup dissolve in the hydrophilic oil.
  4. Moisten your fingers with water and massage the dermis further. At this stage, the oil will begin to foam and dissolve the contents of the sebaceous glands.
  5. Remove well with water. At this time, you will remove the leftovers makeup and dirt from the skin.
  6. The remnants of the product must be washed off the skin using the usual cleanser.

It is very important not to replace your regular wash product with hydrophilic oil. This product was created from the very beginning for the removal of BB cream or CC cream.

DIY hydrophilic oil

Finding a quality hydrophilic oil on sale that is perfect for your type of dermis is not easy. You will have to try many different products from many cosmetic companies in practice. Therefore, to simplify the task, we suggest that you make this tool yourself. All components must be purchased either in special cosmetic departments or in the pharmacy chain.

r3 For homemade hydrophilic oils, purchase a cosmetic base oil and emulsifier. The first component is purchased from a pharmacy. If you have never used an emulsifier before, then buy polysorbate, TWIN-20 or the same one with the 80 mark. You will also need to buy a sterile container equipped with a dispenser and a glass with graduated graduations.

For those with oily skin, we recommend using sesame, jojoba or grape seed oil as a base. These types of oils normalize the activity of the sebaceous glands and tighten the pores. Take 80 ml of base oil and mix with 20 grams of emulsifier. If you want, you can pour 20 drops of rosemary or tea essential oil into the composition. Mix everything well and use this mixture to cleanse the dermis.

r2 For dry dermis, completely different oils are suitable. We recommend using avocado, olive, wheat germ or walnut oil as a base. Skin prone to dryness needs more oil, so take 90 ml of oil and only 10 grams of polysorbate. Add a few drops of a pleasantly scented essential oil to the composition if desired. Stir everything well and use.

Normal skin types, as well as combination skin, work well with coconut, sea buckthorn or almond oil. Use the same oil and emulsifier content as for oily skin.

Reviews of hydrophilic oil
