How to iron pants correctly
Classic trousers, both for men and women, must be with arrows. Usually, after washing, the arrows need to be ironed. Inexperienced housewives may have uneven or double arrows. How to avoid this, read below.
How to iron trousers with arrows
You can iron only washed trousers, clothes with stains should not be exposed to a heated device. From strong heating, contaminants can fix on the matter and it will be very difficult to wash them off later. Be sure to look on the trousers for a special label that informs about the recommendations for the care of the product. Set the iron temperature accordingly. This will prevent damage to the fabric and will be able to iron your trousers well.
To iron the arrows, you need gauze or light-colored cloth. It will not dye your pants, will not leave streaks on the fabric and will protect your pants from the shiny traces of the iron sole. Best to Exercise ironing trousers on a special board with a flat and fairly hard surface. If you do not have such a device, then use a regular table, covering it with a thick blanket.
Now you can start ironing directly:
- Turn the garment inside out and place it on the ironing board. Iron the pockets, lining and belt well first. This will help to avoid further creases in the fabric of the trousers. Then turn the pants over to the front.
- Now iron the top of the pants. For convenience, use a sleeve block or a narrow section of the ironing board, placing the individual parts of your trousers on it.
- After that, you can start ironing the trousers themselves. Fold the two trousers so that all the seams, inside and side, coincide with each other. Iron the trousers on one side, for best results use the steam function, or iron the trousers through a damp cloth.
- Now flip your pants and walk iron on the other side of the product. Then iron the inside of the leg. To do this, fold the top leg up. Do the same with the second leg. Do not iron the arrows at this point.
- Now fold the pant legs in half again to match all the seams. In doing so, the arrows must hit exactly the dart on the waist of the trousers.
- Lay the pants like this on the ironing board. Cover the arrow with a damp cloth and iron with an iron. Remove the iron and fold the leg up. Press the arrow on the inside of the second leg through the damp cloth. In this case, do not run the iron on the fabric, it may shift, and you will get a double arrow as a result. It is better to rearrange the iron, processing different parts of the fabric one by one.
- Re-fold the legs, aligning the seams, and place the garment on the ironing board upside down. Repeat the steps above.
Do not rush to immediately hang well-ironed trousers in the closet. Let them cool down a bit, and only then hang them on a hanger. To prevent the fabric from wrinkling at the bend of the legs, use a hanger with a special foam roller. This will keep your trousers neat and tidy for a long time. Ladies' slim fit trousers can be ironed in the same way.
