How to prepare salted play dough and what to make from it

Those who have ever spent time with a child, especially a small one, know that keeping a child busy is a difficult task. Especially so that he sits in one place for at least half an hour. All children are different and their taste preferences in games also rarely coincide. However, there are some activities that everyone loves! In particular, this is modeling. This is not only interesting, but also useful.

How to make salted play dough

Modeling is not a simple matter. Plasticine or special sand is most often used for it. The first one smears, the second one crumbles into such small pieces that even a vacuum cleaner has difficulty removing it.  This is where play dough comes to the aid of the “nannies”. It is elastic, holds the firm well, is pleasant to the touch, which is very important. for a child, and it’s not hard to clean up after games.

Method I

To prepare the dough you will need:

• a glass of salt (fine);
• a glass of flour;
• vegetable oil 5 tbsp;
• water;
• dyes (gouache).

Preparation:

1. Prepare a deep bowl. Pour flour, salt into it and mix.
2. Then add oil and a little water.
3. Once you have mixed the flour, oil and water, you can add coloring. Stir well so that the color is uniform.

After such simple manipulations, the modeling dough is ready!

II method

To prepare you will need:

• one and a half cups flour;
• salt glass;
• PVA glue tbsp;
• water 1/7 cup.

Preparation:

1. Prepare a deep dish. Mix flour and salt in it.
2. Then add water and stir again.
3. The last step is to add glue to the flour mixture and mix the mixture.

III method

To prepare you will need:

• salt glass;
• flour 2 cups;
• water 1/7 cup;
• hand cream tbsp..

Preparation: In a deep container, mix all ingredients until smooth. The finished dough should be soft to the touch and elastic.

VI method

To prepare you will need:

• salt glass;
• one and a half cups of flour;
• wallpaper glue (PVA) tbsp;
• water 1/7 cup;
• glycerin 4 tbsp..

Preparation:

1. To knead the dough well, prepare a deep bowl and a blender (mixer).
2. Mix flour and salt, add water and mix lightly.
3. Then pour glycerin and glue into the resulting mass and mix again.

The play dough is ready!

How to sculpt figures from salt dough

Before you start sculpting, prepare a few necessary tools. In principle, they are the same as when working with plasticine:

• A small board and oilcloth.
• Plastic leg for modeling.
• A rolling pin for modeling, you can also use a simple home or kitchen one, but remember that it will be more convenient for a child to work with a small rolling pin.
• Small container with water.
• Molds for modeling.
• Paints.
• Items for imprinting (curly buttons, beads, etc.).

To make any dough figure you need:

1. Take a piece of dough and roll it out. The thickness of the layer is determined solely by you, based on what kind of craft you want to make. You may also need several layers of different thicknesses.
2. Already on the finished rolled out dough, mark the shape for cutting, yourself or using a mold.
3. Then place the finished figures on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
4. Of these toys you can make decorations for the Christmas tree or earrings. Therefore, before sending them to bake, make punctures (holes) in the necessary places.
5. Preheat the oven to one hundred and thirty degrees and place the baking sheet there for several hours.
6. When the time is up, take out the figures and let them cool.
7. As soon as they become cold, you can start decorating. If you did not add dye to the flour, you can paint it, glue buttons or beads.
