How to relieve tired legs
There is probably no person who has not experienced tired legs at least once in his life. Work, shopping, walks with the child, in the evening the legs simply become tired from fatigue. Constant stress can lead not just to fatigue, but to more serious problems. So let's talk about how to avoid their occurrence and learn how to relieve fatigue from your legs.
Relaxing foot massage
For an effective massage, be sure to use massage cream or oil, apply it to your palms and warm it a little in your hands. Now start massaging your feet with stroking actions. Focus on the top of your foot first and then gradually move towards your heel. Here draw circles all over the heel. The movements must be strong, since the skin in this area is quite rough.
Now massage the hollow of your foot using your knuckles. Then move on to your fingers and massage each finger in turn, paying attention to the joints.
Now move up to the Achilles tendon and massage it with your thumbs. Move to your ankle and stretch it too. Next, point your thumbs towards the raised bones on either side and knead the skin around them. After this, hold your leg above the ankle with one hand and rotate your foot in different directions with the other.
Rub your calves and run your knuckles over your calf muscles. Then bend and straighten your leg at the knee several times. After this, press on the foot, while stretching the leg muscles. Gradually reducing the intensity of movements, finish smoothly massage. This will allow you to relax your muscles and feel lightness in your legs.
Foot baths
A foot bath is a wonderful spa treatment that can be successfully performed at home. It will take a little time, a basin of water, infusions of medicinal herbs, and a few towels.
The procedure will be as follows:
- Be sure to wash your feet before taking a bath.
- Do not take a bath longer than 20 minutes.
- Be sure to dry your feet after the bath.
- To further soften the skin, use lotions or foot creams.
To relieve fatigue, take an infusion of calendula, birch leaves, linden, juniper berries, lingonberries, marshmallow roots or horsetail. You can make a mixture of these healing herbs, or you can use them individually, or make a combination of just a few. For infusion, do not use boiling water, but water cooled to 50 degrees. When the infusion is ready, add a little sea salt and baking soda– they will remove lactic acid from tired muscles.
After finishing your bath, dry your feet well with a towel. And for maximum impact, put warm socks on your feet and let your feet rest for a while. To do this, take a horizontal position and place your feet on a hill. You can simply put a pillow under them.
Contrast shower
Pouring alternately hot and cold water can relieve the fatigue that has accumulated during the day. It is best to do this procedure in the evening, but if you are very tired, you can also perform morning procedures.
Contrast dousing legs very easy to do. To begin, gradually change the temperature of the water from cold to hot and vice versa. Then change the temperature sharply from hot to cold and back to hot again. Do this several times for 10 minutes. Finish the contrast shower with a good rubbing with a rough towel.
It is very useful to use a contrast shower for varicose veins. But here it is important to observe the temperature regime and not make the water too hot, otherwise, instead of having a beneficial effect, you will cause harm to your feet.
