Fleas often cause allergies:
- tearfulness of the eyes;
- hair loss;
- bright skin rash;
- sores at the site of the bite.
If the above symptoms appear, immediately contact the zoo, otherwise there is a risk of complete baldness of the animal, and sometimes death from a secondary infection.
Flea prevention
The appearance of fleas is a big trouble. And each owner should try to protect his pet from bloodthirsty creatures. 
In order to protect your friend, you must follow the following rules:
- limiting communication with street animals;
- do not visit places of accumulations of stray animals, even if they are not there at the time of the walk (since fleas wait for their prey on the plants);
- you need to clean your shoes when you get home. insect larvae may lie on the ground.
For complete protection, purchase a special collar at the pet store that repels insects and protects the dog.
How to remove fleas from a dog
If your dog nevertheless, it has become a cozy "house" for bloodsucking - start treatment immediately in order to avoid unwanted consequences.
For "helpers" in the "bloodthirsty war" you can go to the pet store. The most popular remedy is - shampoo, although the result is short-lived afterwards, so doctors advise to use it before thorough dry cleaning. 
Flea spray is considered an effective method of control. It not only immediately kills all bloodsucking, but also retains a deterrent scent for a week. However, there is a drawback - it is difficult to apply it to the body of an adult and large dog.
Special drops able to protect the pet from fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. It is necessary to apply the product to the withers. The result lasts for about a month. 
Powder is considered to be no less effective. The required amount is applied to the dog's fur, and then rubbed vigorously against hair growth.
After you have managed to get rid of the bloodsucking, do not forget to clean it with a special means everything your pet has come into contact with, otherwise there is a risk of re-infection, because eggs or adults may remain there.
