How to protect your hair from wind and sun
It has long been proven that the effects of both the aggressive sun and the winter cold are equally harmful for our hair. From them, the curls become brittle, dry, appears dandruff and other problems, up to and including their loss. How can you prevent these kinds of problems?
How to protect your hair from the sun
If you spend the summer months in the city, try not to spend the daytime outdoors with your head uncovered. At this time, the sun's rays are the most aggressive, so it is better to cover the curls with a hat, bandana or any other headgear.
For summer, it is better to replace the usual alcohol-based styling products with analogs from natural ingredients. It will be great if your hair care products, among the other ingredients, contain special filters that protect against ultraviolet radiation.
Also, for the summer period, it is worth abandoning all types of devices for creating curls. It is best not to use a hair dryer to dry the strands. And if you cannot do without it, then be sure to use cold air drying. Indeed, throughout the day, air already takes moisture, so you do not need to additionally dry your hair with a hairdryer.
Use nourishing masks to moisturize the strands and balms... We also recommend using special indoor humidifiers to create a comfortable environment. In hot weather, before going outside, you can spray your hair with thermal water or a specially designed spray.
If you spend your vacation on the seaside, then sea salt, the influence of hard sand and gusts of hot wind are added to the aggressive effects of solar activity. Therefore, it is better to protect curls at a seaside resort in a comprehensive manner.
- To enhance the protective qualities of the strands, it is recommended to abandon dyes and from perming with chemicals.
- You should not go out to the sea with your head uncovered. Hats and panama hats will not only protect you from headaches and sunstroke, but also protect your curls from the danger of drying out. For better protection, buy hats made from natural materials in light shades.
- Try to hide your hair under the headdress as much as possible. If necessary, you can braid the curls into a braid or make a tourniquet, fasten with a hairpin. The less strands remain uncovered, the less time and money you will have to spend on restoring damaged hair.
- Be sure to wash your hair or at least rinse with fresh water after each bathing in seawater. It is important to free the curls from salt, which attracts bright rays.
- Often use special products with ultraviolet filters to protect curls.
- Be sure to apply conditioner to your curls before each visit to the beach.
How to protect hair from wind in winter
In the cold, and even more so in the frosty season, be sure to wear a hat. Perhaps this does not quite correspond to fashion trends, but it is useful for your curls. Keep in mind that exposure to low temperatures increases the likelihood that hair will simply begin to fall out intensively. Even from a short exposure to low temperatures, the hair follicles are damaged, which causes disturbances in their nutrition and provokes hair loss.
Put off experimenting with hairstyles until the warmer months and don't get a haircut that needs daily styling. In any case, the ideal styling cannot be preserved under the headdress, and no one has yet called the effect of hair dryers and tongs to create curls useful. It is best to make a haircut for the winter, which does not require complex styling, for example, with graduated strands.
Keep the water cool to wash your hair. This will create conditions that are closest to the weather. Curls will become less electrified. Brush your hair more often. This will become a kind of massage that will increase blood circulation and, therefore, nutrition of the hair roots. Provide your curls with extra nutrition in the form of masks. For dry strands, use kefir masks based on vegetable oil or potatoes. And for other types of curls, masks with an egg or honey are suitable.
Before going out into the air, be sure to wear protective equipment against low temperatures and gusts of wind. Avoid tight hairstyles that disrupt blood flow and cause hair loss.
