Protein masks for hair
In order for the effectiveness of the mask to be high, you should know some rules, namely:
- Never apply the protein formulation to dry strands, otherwise it will deprive them of moisture and the hair will become dehydrated. An exception may be masks, which contain moisturizing ingredients, but still it is better not to risk it.
- For the preparation of the mask, it is better to use homemade eggs, which are preferable to purchase from farmers if it is not possible to use your own.
- Before preparing the mask, whisk the protein until a gentle airy foam is formed. After adding all the other ingredients, it is advisable to beat the entire composition with a mixer to get an even consistency without lumps.
- Unlike other hair masks, protein formulations should not be heated in a water bath, otherwise it can lead to protein folding.
- You need to distribute the prepared composition on clean and slightly damp hair. The mask can be applied to all strands and scalp, or simply to the hair, without affecting the dermis. After applying the mask, the hair can be combed so that the composition is better distributed over each hair.
- Also, for these masks you do not need to create a bath effect, therefore, after application, you do not need to cover your head with polyethylene and a towel.
- Regardless of the recipe, keep the composition on the hair for no more than 20-25 minutes. If the mask dries up, it will be problematic to wash it off.
- Under no circumstances use hot water to rinse the mask - in this case, the protein will curl up and it will be problematic to comb it out of the hair.
- The duration of the course of protein hair masks is limited to about 10 masks, with intervals of performance once every 3 days.
