Home Beauty Hair Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is a real all-rounder, with which you can disinfect wounds, restore beauty, and improve your health. This miracle drug has a 100% natural composition, so you can use it without fear, but, of course, everything is within reason. In this article, we will analyze in detail the beneficial qualities of the oil and tell you how to use it correctly and effectively in various fields.

Properties of tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is a powerful natural antiseptic. It has bactericidal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Interestingly, with its antiseptic qualities it can compete with carbolic acid and phenol, because this oil has a strength ten times higher, which is explained by the rich chemical composition of the substance and the presence of viridoflorene in it. Due to these qualities, the oil is widely used in the treatment of viral and infectious diseases; it can relieve itching and inflammation resulting from insect bites. Tea tree oil can neutralize poisons in the body and treat skin diseases, even such as herpes, smallpox and eczema. It is also very useful for treating mucous membranes, but not in its pure form.

A beneficial effect of the aromatic properties of the oil on the psychological state of a person has been noted. As an adjuvant, it can be used for severe psychological shocks and chronic nervous disorders. It is recommended to inhale the aromas of the oil for people with unstable psyches. It is very useful to enjoy the aroma in critical situations when there is increased nervousness. For hot-tempered people In order to constantly remain calm, it is useful to carry a neckerchief with you, onto which you first apply just a couple of drops of the composition, or an aromatic pendant. Interestingly, the aromatic and healing properties of tea tree oil can be enhanced by other oils, for example lavender.

Tea tree oil helps fight fatigue, even chronic, quickly restore strength and increase concentration. After suffering illnesses, it is useful to inhale the aromas of ether for a speedy recovery. With its help, you can disinfect the air, since the oil prevents bacteria that have entered the room from multiplying and kills existing ones.

Unfortunately, it has contraindications. If you apply the composition to the skin in its pure form, unpleasant sensations may appear in the form of burning and redness, but all this goes away on its own in just a few minutes. However, there are people who have an individual intolerance to oil. But even if there are no contraindications, long-term use without breaks is not recommended. Be careful not to get the mixture into your eyes. There are also age restrictions on the use of oil; it is not recommended for children under six years of age, as well as for women during the perinatal period. Be careful if you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergic reactions, as tea tree oil may cause allergies. If you have not used oil until now, then before use you need to conduct a small allergy test by applying a little of the composition to the inner bend of your elbow.

Tea tree oil can be used in different ways: pure or diluted. Of course, the second option is preferable, since a high concentration of the composition can even lead to a burn, but it all depends on the purpose of use. But the scope of its use is quite wide - from medical to cosmetology areas. A little later we will tell you about recipes for various applications. Let's start with some beneficial uses of tea tree oil.

  • As a hand sanitizer. Contact of oil with germs and bacteria has a detrimental effect on the latter, so instead of buying artificial disinfectants, you can prepare one yourself. In a container you should mix: 30 drops of tea tree oil, 9 drops of lavender oil, 9 drops of clove oil, a large spoon of witch hazel, 16 large spoons of aloe gel. Knead all this well and place it in a tube for convenient storage. The composition should be kept in a cool, dark place for no more than a month.
  • For rapid healing of wounds and abrasions. Before using the composition, be sure to rinse the wound with clean water or treat it with chlorhexidine or hydrogen peroxide. This remedy is very simple to prepare - mix a drop of tea tree oil with coconut oil, mix and apply to the damaged area. After about five minutes, the composition should be washed off with water. Such manipulations are repeated two to three times a day. You can do it differently - apply the mixture to the inside of the patch and thus close the wound.
  • As a pest and insect repeller. It’s interesting, but practically no one lives in the thickets of this plant, neither boogers nor rodents, and all because this smell is disgusting to them. Given this ability to repel unwanted animals, it can be used as a natural repellent. Dilute 20-30 drops of oil with water in a spray bottle, shake well and spray the composition in areas where boogers and rodents are potentially found.
  • To eliminate bad breath. Often the appearance of an unpleasant “aroma” in the mouth is due to the active proliferation of harmful microorganisms. The property of oil to kill bacteria will come in very handy here. Mix a couple of drops of the composition in a glass of water and rinse your mouth with this solution. It is advisable to repeat the procedure twice a day.
  • Tea tree oil is a natural replacement for deodorant. Sweat itself has no odor; it is produced by bacteria that actively multiply in a warm environment. To avoid this unpleasant moment, you just need to treat your clean armpits with gauze soaked in water + tea tree oil. By the way, such a deodorant will definitely not leave white marks on your clothes.
  • Does your trash can constantly smell bad? It's easy to fix! Prepare a mixture of half a small spoon of tea tree oil and half a cup of soda. Mix all this with a fork and place it at the bottom of the bucket - the smell of waste will disappear.
  • With oil you can get rid of surface mold. Mix ten drops of oil in a glass of water. Pour into a spray bottle, shake well and spray moldy areas. After about five minutes, the composition can be removed with a damp cloth.
  • By mixing tea tree oil and coconut oil, you can get an excellent composition that will save you from itching and irritation after an insect bite. Just lubricate the affected areas with it.
  • To eliminate the smell from the washing machine, you need to place about 15 drops of oil in the drum of the device and run the empty machine in a hot cycle. This will not only eliminate odors, but also kill any bacteria present in the machine.
  • You can use this oil to relieve muscle pain. About ten drops of oil need to be dissolved in the base oil; even regular sunflower oil will do. Pour all this into Epsom salts and immerse in a bath of warm water. Take these baths when you feel tired or have muscle pain.
  • Do you need to eliminate the smell of sweat and prevent excessive sweating of your feet? Easily! Boil several glasses of water and pour into a bowl. Throw a few branches of rosemary into it, leave for 15 minutes, and add 15 drops of tea tree oil (previously diluted in the base area). Dip your feet into the prepared mixture and enjoy the procedure for a quarter of an hour. It is advisable to carry out the procedure twice a day.

These are not all the options for how tea tree oil can be used beneficially, but it would be difficult to list them all. However, just from this list it is clear that such oil is definitely not lying around on the farm.

Tea tree oil: reviews

In the modern world, it is difficult to believe that natural medicines can compete with pharmaceutical products, but tea tree oil shows the opposite. It can not only be on par, but in most cases it turns out to be much more effective than chemical industry products. A huge number of reviews about tea tree oil are positive, and the average rating for its effectiveness is 9.8 on a 10-point scale.

It is used as a universal remedy for a variety of purposes, which we described in this article. In almost all cases there were excellent results and only with very rare exceptions did people have an allergic reaction to the oil, but this, in principle, was no secret. However, the percentage of allergy sufferers is very, very small, but this still shows once again the need to conduct an allergy test before use. Otherwise, we can say without exaggeration that tea tree oil is a real panacea for many problems!
