“Seeing the world through different eyes”: how to improve vision
Vision is perhaps one of the most invaluable human senses. With its help we can see everything that surrounds us. And it’s very sad when this “picture” becomes blurry. However, there are several ways in which it is possible to improve vision without surgery.

Deterioration of vision: causes
Every day our eyes are subjected to very heavy loads and, of course, this affects the quality of vision. Deterioration can occur for a variety of reasons:
- Heredity. Unfortunately this is true. If parents have problems, even acquired during life, then we cannot exclude the possibility that they will arise in the future in the child.
- Various eye diseases (myopia, farsightedness, cataracts) and other diseases, for example diabetes mellitus. After all, our body is a single process where all organs directly depend on each other.
- A TV, computer, smartphone and other devices that have a bright digital screen are the main enemies of our vision.
- Lack of lighting in the room or too bright light also have a negative effect; reading in such conditions is especially harmful.
- Myopia can appear as a result of a head injury or simply a strong blow, so to protect your vision, first of all, take care of yourself.
- Some women experience decreased vision during pregnancy, or after childbirth, this is due to the heavy load on the body. Most often this is a temporary phenomenon.
- Age-related deterioration, usually occurring after age 40, is a natural process as the retina of the eye ages. But it can be slowed down. How? Let's talk about this a little later.
Vitamins for vision
Help preserve our vision for as long as possible vitamins. They are contained in food and vitamin and mineral complexes designed specifically for the eyes.
Lutein is a component of first importance; it protects against the development of various pathologies; it is not produced in the human body. It can only be obtained from food that contains it, and then by absorbing it in large quantities. The top three are spinach, pumpkin and green peas. But still, you will most likely have to fill your daily requirement with the help of vitamin supplements.
Anthocyanins strengthen the retina and relieve general eye fatigue. Black currants and blueberries are “rich” in this component.
Vitamin A helps to avoid the so-called “night blindness”, that is, loss of visual acuity in poor lighting or in the dark. To prevent this from happening, you need to eat butter, sour cream, milk, beef and pork liver, egg yolk, cabbage, spinach and sorrel.
Vitamin B2 or riboflavin is responsible for color perception and visual acuity. Sunflower seeds contain it in record quantities. The main food is chicken, beef, fish, all dairy and fermented milk products, herbs and vegetables of this color.
Vitamin C generally maintains the visual system in working order. Of course, these are oranges, lemons and their other relatives, red peppers, rose hips, black currants, parsley.
Today you can buy a wide variety of vitamin complexes for vision in pharmacies. They are produced in the forms of tablets, capsules, drops, so it is very easy to choose the right option for yourself. The most important thing is that the content of useful and necessary substances in them meets quality standards. But it is better to seek help from a specialist - an ophthalmologist will help you decide on the choice of the most effective one.
How to restore vision
Today, one of the most popular methods of vision restoration is laser correction, but still this procedure is considered an operation and is a last resort. To get started, you can try other existing methods:
- Physiotherapy (magnetic, infrared radiation). However, it is most effective in childhood.
- Various devices: magnetic acupuncture massagers, perforation glasses and others.
- Solarization is a specific set of exercises that are performed under the influence of sunlight, as they help restore the retina.
- Eye training using special techniques. For example, the Bates method, based on certain eye movements and “palming” - massage of the eyes with the palms.
Exercises for vision
Let's look at a few simple but effective techniques to relieve eye fatigue and maintain overall vision tone.
- Blink your eyes very quickly for 1-2 minutes.
- Stand up and look into the distance. Focus on any subject for 4-5 seconds. Extend your left hand forward, with your index finger raised up. Look at him for 4-5 seconds. Perform the exercise at least 10 times.
- In a sitting position, close your eyes sharply for 2-3 seconds, open your eyes. Do this 5-6 times.
- While standing, move your eyes up and down, left and right, and make circular movements. Imagine a watch dial and look at each number one by one. Do each exercise 8-10 times.
