  • The most magnificent building in the country is the Hungarian Parliament. At the same time, this building is a business card of the capital.   • The main shrine of Hungarian Catholics is the Basilica of St. Adalbert, located in the city of Esztergom. From a distance, the building resembles a government office, decorated with a dome. But it is still a temple building, and the largest in the country. The building is decorated with marble columns, colorful frescoes and bright mosaics.

  • One of the first permanent bridges that connected two parts capitals– Széchenyi chain bridge. It connects the two banks of the Danube. The entrance to the bridge is guarded by majestic lions, and in the evening, spectacular lighting turns on. The bridge was built more than a century and a half ago, but still copes with its main task perfectly.

  • The Visegrad Fortress is located in a small town north of the capital. Here, during the Roman conquests, a fortress was built, which later served as a defensive structure and protected the city from the invasion of the Ottomans and Tatars. This fortress is known for its rich wine cellars and the fact that Count Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula, was once imprisoned here.

Features of Hungary

A distinctive feature of the Hungarian people is their hospitality. Here it is customary to greet everyone and begin communication by pronouncing the person’s last name or title.

The local people are distinguished by their balanced and calm character; they prefer to resolve any disputes and conflicts through conversation rather than by measuring force. It would be appropriate to start a conversation about culinary preferences, children's successes or family values. But you should not touch on topics such as work, marital status or health. Of course, one cannot compare Hungarians with other peoples.

Hungarians do not like to rush in professional matters. They have great respect for the country's historical past and cannot stand its neglect. The Hungarian language is quite difficult to learn, but in historical centers many residents speak fluent English, and some hotels even have Russian-speaking staff.

Hungary has recently been chosen for medical tourism, which is especially important considering the number of thermal springs in this country. From this point of view, the capital of the country, Budapest, which is considered the only resort capital, can be called unique.

If you are planning to visit Hungary for a family holiday, we recommend that you pay attention to the hotels located on the southern shore of Lake Balaton. In those places it is very convenient to enter the water. For the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system, hotels in the Tapolca resort are more suitable. There is a special cave for healing from such diseases and all measures have been taken to organize the rest of young patients.

Young people will be interested in the resorts of Balaton and in the capital Budapest. Here you can visit numerous festivals, practice various sports or relax in numerous nightclubs.

How much will a holiday in Hungary cost?

According to the widespread opinion of experienced tourists, vacationing in Hungary is profitable. This country combines a decent European level of quality and a reasonable price tag. For meals, local cafes and restaurants are suitable, offering an extensive list of local dishes. Almost all of them have excellent taste and are perfectly filling. A full restaurant lunch per person will cost about 600 rubles.

But the excursion program may seem prohibitively expensive. But you don’t have to spend money on visiting attractions every day, but only see the main ones. For example, a sightseeing tour of the capital will cost 140 euros for a group of 3 people. A visit to the Royal Fortress will cost 120 euros. Moreover, the larger the group of tourists, the less you will have to pay per person.

The approximate cost of a vacation starts from 54,000 rubles when staying in a three-star hotel for 10 days. If the hotel is of a higher class, then this amount will increase to 72,000. On holidays, prices can increase by 1.5 times or more. However, the indicated amount does not include the price of excursions, as well as additional food.
