At six months old, a baby is no longer just a wiggling lump. He moves, learns, learns the world by touch, knows who is his own and avoids strangers. It was at this time that he needs as many vitamins and useful elements as possible. Six months is a great time for your first feeding.

Before talking about complementary foods, it is worth noting the existence of two types of children:

  • naturalists, up to six months are fed exclusively with mother's milk;
  • artificial people, children who, almost from the first days of their lives, were transferred to nutrition with special milk mixtures.

It is worth noting that the diet of artificial people expands much faster than that of natural scientists.

At six months, the list of acceptable foods is already relatively long. However, it is worth introducing them into the baby's diet gradually and little by little, observing how the baby's body reacts to them. If an allergic reaction is detected, the product should be discarded.

It is best to start feeding your baby with vegetables. They do not have a pronounced taste, they are easily absorbed by the body and are less allergenic. In addition, if you start feeding your baby with something sweeter, for example, berry puree, in the future the child may not eat vegetables at all. After all, they are not so tasty.

From the age of six months, a child can eat:

  • light vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, pumpkin;
  • fruits: kiwi (hypoallergenic), apple, pear (with care), banana, peach;
  • cereals: dairy-free and dairy-free cereals;
  • meat: rabbit, turkey, young beef;
  • only soft cheeses from dairy products;
  • drink: freshly squeezed juices, boiled water.

All products are pre-cooked and then grinded with a blender or passed through a meat grinder. The child does not eat a whole apple or peach, but puree out of him.

It is best to start feeding with vegetables and end with meat. But if your child is not gaining weight well, start with a meal of porridge.
