At approximately one year of age, the baby continues to gain weight up to 300 grams per month. Its growth during this period increases to 1 cm per month. The child's body changes its proportions: it stretches due to the growth of arms and legs, the tummy becomes flatter. During this period, it is important for parents to ensure that the child is steadily gaining weight and height.
At the age of one year, a baby can already move around the house independently. Many people already walk on their own, without support. By the age of one and a half years, children can already run and play with a ball. The child continues his research activities. He tries to climb higher, using a chair or other support for this. One-year-old children love to take toys apart and then put them back together again.
At this age, the child’s vision and hearing are already well developed, he tries to imitate the speech of adults, begins to speak his first words, helping himself with gestures. Children are already able to fulfill simple requests from their parents, recognize them, know them by name and find them in photographs.
Child development at 2 years old
By the age of two, children still gain height and weight. The average height for a child of this age is 86-87 cm, and weight is 12 kg. Of course, there may be slight deviations both up and down.
Two-year-olds make great leaps in their mental and emotional development. They can already do without diapers, they know what the potty is for and enjoy using it. Here is a list of skills that a two-year-old child has:

At this age, children are already good at assembling pyramids and composite toys, and can put together simple pictures from pieces. They know several colors and can show and name them. They correctly draw geometric shapes and perform simple drawings at will. Three-year-old children enjoy role-playing games, show imagination in play and imitate the actions of adults and peers.
For 3-year-old children, praise and approval from adults is very important. The child strives to show independence and curiosity. It is important for him to feel proud of himself and his parents. Kids can already behave with restraint in public places. But with prolonged restriction, they begin to act up. Punishment is experienced very deeply by children at this age - they are offended for a long time, worry, may be ashamed of their bad deeds, be jealous of their parents, and are able to express their emotions with a look or pose.
The speech of a three-year-old child becomes more and more meaningful, and his vocabulary increases significantly. He begins to ask educational questions, can repeat unfamiliar words after adults, and quickly memorizes poems and simple songs.
Child development at 4 years old
At 4 years old, children are still actively gaining weight and growing. They can already run confidently, changing direction, stand on one leg, jump on one and two legs, and are not afraid to jump from a small height. Kids can already throw a ball well with one hand, play with it, keep their balance while walking on a bench, and ride a bike.
Four-year-olds should already know numbers and be able to count to 5. Determine where there is more, less, etc., compare objects by size. By this time, the speech reserve increases even more. The child is already able to speak coherently and express his thoughts in a familiar language, learn poems and songs, and compose short stories.
Children should have some ideas about the world around them: what their parents’ names are, their address, their age. The child should know the names of pets and what they look like, know the seasons and what happens to nature at this time.
Child development at 5 years old
By the age of five, the child’s character is finally formed. Therefore, it is very important not to miss this moment and guide development in the right direction.
At this age, children love long walks with games. This is a great opportunity to expand his horizons, vocabulary and improve motor skills. Children 5 years old love to play complex role-playing games, inventing whole stories for themselves with fictional images.
The child continues to actively develop his speech. Children often come up with new words themselves, ask a lot of questions, love to speculate, and show their creative talent. He is already able to draw conclusions based on his observations. Here is a small list of the skills of kids of this age:
