Cause of bruises under the eyes of children
In the eye area, the skin has minimal thickness. In children it is the most subtle and sensitive. Blood vessels and capillaries show through, causing a blue tint to the skin. This is the most common cause of bruising.
Other reasons include:
- Heredity. The thickness of the skin or the proximity of capillaries is inherited at the genetic level. In this case, a change in skin color is not a pathology and should not cause concern.

- Increased stress leading to general fatigue of the body. A large amount of time spent at the computer and books, additional classes lead to the fact that the child does not have time to rest or walk in the fresh air. This leads to thinning of the skin, oxygen deficiency in the tissues, and the appearance of blue discoloration.
- Lack of sleep, the temperature in the bedroom is too high. The body does not have time to rest and recover.
- Unbalanced diet, consumption of large amounts of “junk foods” and few vitamins. Metabolism deteriorates, organs do not receive the necessary nutrition.
Some diseases also cause the lower eyelid to appear blue. These include:
- Vegetovascular dystonia. Poor blood supply leads to exhaustion of the body.
- Allergic diseases.

- Infectious diseases leading to severe intoxication of the body.
- Anemia. With low hemoglobin, the dermis becomes dry, pale, and takes on an unhealthy hue.

- Intestinal parasites. They absorb nutrients and release waste products into the blood.
- Chronic inflammation of the tonsils, adenoids.
How to remove dark circles under the eyes in children
After finding out the cause of unsightly darkening under the eyes, you can take measures to eliminate them. First of all, it is necessary to adjust the child’s loads and sleep patterns. Rest at night should not be less than 8 hours, during the day 1-2 hours of quiet activity or sleep. The diet should include vegetables, fruits, dairy products and meat. The volume of clean water you drink is at least 1.5 liters. Daily walks outside are required.
Cosmetic procedures can lighten the skin. To do this, use chamomile decoction or black tea bags. Soak a cotton pad in the decoction and apply for 10-15 minutes. Tea bags are poured with boiling water, squeezed out and applied to the problem area.
If the baby has weakness, lethargy and anemia is detected, then take iron-containing drugs, vitamins.
If intestinal parasites, tonsillitis, or adenoids are detected, the doctor will prescribe medication that will help eliminate the cause of the bruises.
If bruises occur in combination with weight gain, constant thirst, or headaches, the endocrine system is examined. Its violations can seriously affect the child’s health and cause growth retardation.
The appearance of blue and brown spots on the child’s lower eyelid cannot be ignored. They signal certain problems or diseases. Be sure to consult with your pediatrician and other specialists to avoid serious consequences. Monitor your child’s diet, provide enough vitamins, and do not overload your baby emotionally and physically.
