Loft style in the interior
The Loft style is relatively new, the origin of which fell on the 40s of the 20th century in New York. The jump in land prices forced the owners of enterprises to move their production to the outskirts, and the vacated premises soon attracted bohemians. High ceilings, excellent lighting - such luxury could not boast of ordinary apartments. Initially, such premises were designed as workshops, but a little later the Loft style turned out to be popular for decorating dwellings. Gradually, this trend in the interior became elite. By the way, the word "Loft" in translation from English means simply "attic".

Features of the Loft style
The Loft style is difficult to confuse with something else, and speaking of its characteristics, it is especially worth highlighting:
- Color palette. This direction is characterized by the use of cold colors and shades, often blue and metallic. The classic version implies a sharp contrast in colors. For example, when one wall is covered with metal plaster, while the other three remain brick. This effect is often used for the purpose of delimiting, zoning space.
- Furniture. Often furniture in such a room is made of metal or at least painted to match it. But recently, you can find the use in the Loft style and wood furniture in both light and dark colors. Whatever material is used, the main thing is that the furniture itself is as simple and functional as possible. Since in the classics of the style the rooms are very large, it is often the furniture that acts as the delimiter of the zones.
- Architecture and details. Loft-style details are a separate topic of conversation. He loves everything that is somehow connected with the legacy of the factory past, namely stairs, pipes, ventilation, and other devices that are usually hidden in apartments. But special attention should be paid to the windows - the Loft style implies the largest and highest windows that let in a lot of light. There should not be any curtains on them. Artificial lighting is organized by hanging hanging chandeliers.
- Space and area. Unfortunately, it is impossible to recreate the true Loft style in a classic apartment. Since the origin of the style came from former factories, it is customary to use maximum space and very high ceilings. Recently, however, the Neoloft style has become popular. It has retained the main features of the "parent", but was designed just for the decoration of apartments and houses.
Loft style kitchen
For many, the Loft style in the design is misleading, which makes people consider it a little expensive, but this is far from the case. Despite all the external simplicity, it is not easy to think over the interior. To recreate the maximum similarity with the parental style, you need to find suitable materials for decoration and furniture that fits into the general style. Initially, those who got the brick walls from the developer will be lucky. But even if the walls are not made of brick, you can make an imitation, for example, with wallpaper, but decorative plaster, although it will come out more expensive, will also look more believable, and therefore more beautiful.
Remembering the peculiarity of the style, which lies in the play of contrasts, you can use this to your advantage. Let one wall be "brick", and decorate the others with textured wallpaper of the same tone, without a pattern.
When choosing flooring, give priority to wood, such as parquet and laminate. It will be very good if it has a gloss on it.
When deciding on furniture for the kitchen in the Loft style, you can give preference to the most modern, just like absolute antiques - here you can completely rely on your taste. In this case, if space permits, furniture can be used to zone the dining area and the cooking area.
Curtains in the Loft style are not welcome, but if you really need them, then give preference to simple curtains made from natural materials.
A few useful tips for decorating a Loft-style kitchen:
- Use unusual decor to highlight your personality. Often the role of such items is vintage things, or art objects, graffiti on the walls - everything that will look like everyone else, but at the same time to the place.
- Color solution. Give preference to brown, burgundy, beige and blue. The contrast of black and white looks good.
- Consider the area. If the kitchen area is very small and limited to one number, but you want to make it fashionable, try to somehow increase the space. For example, remove the wall and connect the kitchen to the balcony or living room.
- Spread the style. The loft does not like to be alone, which means that it makes no sense to design only one kitchen in this style. As a last resort, similar styles can be used in adjacent rooms, for example High tech or minimalism.
- Use fresh flowers. They fit very harmoniously into the overall picture and perfectly enliven the image as a whole.
Loft style living room
For some, the Loft style will not be the best for decorating a living room, since it does not have the usual coziness that many are used to observing. But for creative people, it will become a real find.
To reproduce the main direction, apartments with a free layout and the highest possible ceilings will come in handy. If you want maximum proximity, then before starting the repair, you must definitely change the windows, making them large and in the floor. You will have to abandon the curtains or, if you are completely unbearable, choose simple straight curtains sewn from natural material, such as flax.
The main thing is to observe the principle of open space. Those. it is very desirable that the kitchen and living room be separated not by a wall, but by furniture - a bar counter will have to be in place. Ideally, ensure that only the bathroom and the bathroom are hidden by the walls.
Withstand the restriction on colors, no catchy variety - everything is concise, simple and tasteful. When choosing a specific design, simply focus on the fact that in the end the room looks like, so to speak, a cultural attic. By the way, in order to make the design as much as possible in the Loft style, some designers resort to deliberately letting pipes along the ceiling and walls. Of course, they do not fulfill their direct function, but it looks really impressive.
To achieve the effect of high ceilings, even if they are low, they can be painted as white as possible, which will visually raise them.
Loft style bedroom
And despite the fact that the Loft-style bedroom looks more like a storage room, it only benefits from this. Individualism and accentuated negligence - what else does a creative person need ...
Often in the design of a bedroom, several styles are combined at once, related in their principles. For example Loft with Minimalism or Hi-tech. This combination turns out to be very beneficial and produces amazing results. True, in order to skillfully draw up a design, a professional must create it.
Natural minimalism is the key to a successful Loft style. Brickwork on the walls, a minimum of small details and a variety of textures, rough finishes and simple but functional furniture.
To many, such a bedroom may seem too "cold", but it is not, if you choose the right "warm" lighting and place it successfully throughout the room, and not just on the ceiling.
Loft style bathroom
True fans of the style prefer to bring a touch of Loft even to those rooms where outsiders practically do not visit, for example, in a bath. As in other rooms, the classic principles of style should be observed here - minimalism and brick walls. Let not all walls be made of bricks, but one should be for sure. After all, it is he who is the highlight that distinguishes him from the background of other trends in the interior. To save space and not use a real brick, everything that can create the illusion of its presence is used.
Cool shades and glass are also an important attribute of a Loft-style bathroom. Unfortunately, very few apartments can boast of having a window in the bathroom, but it would be very useful here.
The modern interior in the Loft style allows you to choose the best option for yourself from a huge variety of proposed ones. But at the same time, do not forget that despite all its external simplicity, such beauty is not cheap.
Loft style office
Considering the history of its origin, perhaps the most successful option for applying the true Loft style will be an office. There is no need to create home comfort here, the room itself can be initially selected ideally suited in terms of area and ceiling height. Every year, the style is becoming more and more popular for decorating a workspace, and it is not at all surprising. It has everything you need for productive work - enough space, plenty of light and nothing more.
The ideal Loft style will be in offices where young people or people of creative professions work. When creating a room design, you need to adhere to all the rules of classical reproduction, which we talked about at the very beginning.
