How to plant a money tree

Grow a fat woman is very easy, even a novice gardener can cope with this task. You can plant a money tree with a shoot or a leaf. In this case, you can initially hold the process a little in water so that it gives roots, but you can also skip this step.

Think carefully about what size pot to choose, because the plant grows very quickly in size. A dense and massive crown is formed in a short time. Sometimes even a very developed root system of a plant cannot hold it. Therefore, choose a pot that is heavy and deep, which can hold a large volume so that a fast-growing plant feels comfortable in it.

After the pot is selected, lay a layer on the bottom of the pot. drainage... These can be stones, broken bricks, pebbles, or any other. Pour soil on top of the drain and make a hole in it to plant the scion in it. Loose soil containing a lot of sand is suitable for a money tree. It is best to purchase soil suitable for cacti or succulent plants. If desired, you can mix the soil yourself. To do this, take 2 parts of leafy soil and peat and 3 parts of sand. Water the plant abundantly after planting.

How to care for the money tree

It is very easy to care for this plant. In the summer, it requires very abundant watering. But at the same time, you do not need to fill it. It is enough to water the bastard two or three times a week. While the plant is at rest, watering should be reduced to once every two months. Do not be surprised, but the ground should be dry during this period.

There is no need to spray the plant. It is enough just to wipe the dust off the leaves, which loves to accumulate on the fat woman. There is no need to arrange humid air in the room, but ventilation is necessary for the money tree. The temperature should be about 22 degrees in summer, and in winter the fat woman needs coolness - it is enough to lower the temperature to 12 degrees.

As a top dressing, you must use fertilizers and mixtures suitable for cacti or succulents. The feeding period starts in March and ends in September. Don't fertilize your plant more than once a week. The task of feeding is to replenish the natural loss of minerals, which are partly washed out by water and partly absorbed by the plant.

For the money tree, a low percentage of nitrogen in the fertilizer is important. After all, its excess leads to decay of the roots. It is best to choose fertilizers that contain four parts potassium, two parts phosphorus, and one part nitrogen.

Reproduction of the money tree

There are several ways to breed a fat woman. You can propagate it by cuttings. Just plant the cutting in the pot using the above method. You don't even have to wait until the roots of the plant appear. Cover the plant with a jar immediately after planting to create a greenhouse environment. Remove the jar and ventilate the plant twice a day. When the jar is completely rooted, the jar can be removed.

If you could not get the stalk, then a leaf will be enough. It must be placed in a glass with boiled water and a small amount of charcoal. Leave the leaf in the shade and change the water every couple of days to keep it from rotting. When the roots that appear are perfectly visible, the leaf can be planted in the ground.

How to transplant a money tree

This plant is not one that welcomes frequent transplants. Therefore, despite the active growth, it can be transplanted no more than once a year. The ideal time for this manipulation is early May. It is best to choose a pot that is massive and wide with good stability.

Remember to choose a suitable pot and place the drain on the bottom. After draining, cover the pot with a quarter of earth. Grasp the money tree by the trunk and pull it out of the old pot. Shake it lightly to sprinkle some dirt. Place the plant in a pot and cover with soil. Do not tamp the soil, it is better to fill up the earth with sweat. Water the plant well after transplanting.
