Home Health Inflammation of the appendages: symptoms and treatment

The process of inflammation that develops in the appendages of a woman is called adnexitis. It also captures the fallopian tubes... These organs are interconnected. Therefore, inflammation that develops in one of the organs is likely to affect the second.

Causes of inflammation of the appendages

Normally, a healthy woman does not have any flora in the appendages. This means that the appendages are completely sterile organs. If any organisms are found in these organs, then they got there from the organs located in the neighborhood. The appendages become inflamed in a woman under the influence of pathogenic and opportunistic viruses and bacteria.

The most dangerous inflammation appears under the influence of pathogenic microbes. These include gonococci, which are the causative agent of gonorrhea. This serious and dangerous sexually transmitted disease can provoke the most dangerous complications.

n3 Other pathogenic microorganisms that cause a severe form of adnexitis include:

  • Chlamydia.
  • Trichomonas.
  • Mycoplasma.

In case of untimely seeking help, these microorganisms can provoke severe forms of complications, the most serious of which is infertility.

Other representatives of the flora that cause inflammation of the appendages include microorganisms that live in one way or another in the vagina of any woman - these are Escherichia coli, streptococci and staphylococci. Under favorable circumstances, they acquire the ability to cause inflammation.

However, the mere presence of pathogenic microflora in the body is not enough for the onset of inflammation. Some kind of impetus is needed for its development. Such a driving factor can be a variety of medical manipulations, endocrine diseases, pregnancy, stress, exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases, violation of the microflora in the intestine and other situations.

Chronic inflammation of the appendages

With untimely or incomplete treatment of adnexitis, it most often turns into a chronic form of inflammation. The nature of this disease is long-lasting and undulating. The disease is similar to an acute form, but all the signs are not so bright and can either disappear completely or appear again.

Such a sluggish form, however, is considered more dangerous than acute, since it often leads to irreversible consequences in the form of infertility. The infection that causes this form of inflammation can enter a woman's body through the blood, through the genitals or through the lymph.

Symptoms of inflammation of the appendages

Depending on the nature of the course of the disease, the symptoms are different. But the main and very first symptom is high temperature and severe pain in the lower region belly... In this case, pain can be felt in the lumbar region or in the legs.

It is very difficult to diagnose the disease on your own at an early stage, since the symptoms point to a different area. Usually, women begin to suspect something is wrong when they notice suspicious vaginal discharge or bleeding.

n2 The discharge, characteristic of inflammation of the appendages, differs from normal only in its color. They can be white, yellowish, or purulent green. It is useful for such symptoms to pay attention to the basal temperature. It can rise sharply or, on the contrary, decrease. Such changes are intermittent.

These symptoms appear in the chronic form of the disease. If the discharge does not deviate from the norm in any way, which is rare, but still happens, it is almost impossible to accurately diagnose the disease without additional examination. In this case, it is more reasonable to conduct clinical studies that allow to accurately determine the disease. A routine blood test will help to accurately diagnose the disease.

Treatment of appendages

You should not prescribe treatment on your own. This should only be done by a specialist. Before this, all tests are carried out to identify the causative agent of the disease. After that, treatment is prescribed.

Usually a course of antibiotics is used. Now there is a fairly wide selection of modern drugs that allow you to destroy the disease in a short time and are not addictive.
