Lentils are legumes. You can cook anything with it, from cereals to cutlets. However, in order for the dish to be tasty, it must be cooked correctly, following certain rules.

How to cook lentils

The modern market offers us a huge selection of lentils. This is not the cheapest cereal. It is already peeled, steamed, and matched in size. It remains only to fall asleep in the water. If you buy an almost finished product, that's great. But sometimes more economical options come across, but with them the situation is different. Before starting the cooking process, it is necessary to sort out the cereals, rinse abundantly with water.

The cooking time for lentils depends on what you are going to cook:

  • chopped lentils are cooked for about twenty minutes and are great for cereals and mashed potatoes;
  • whole is cooked for up to forty-five minutes.

There are several ways to prepare lentils.

Cold

You need to take:

  • a glass of lentils;
  • two glasses of water;
  • a teaspoon of salt.

Cooking process:

  1. Rinse the lentils with a drushlag.
  2. Pour into a saucepan, pour in two glasses of water. Place on a medium heat and bring to a boil. Then cover the pot with a lid and cook until cooked through.
  3. Five minutes before cooking, add salt.

If you want to make a side dish from lentils, drain the water: leave the porridge.

Hot

You need to take:

  • a glass of lentils;
  • two glasses of water;
  • a teaspoon of salt.

Cooking process:

  1. Lentils are sorted out and washed.
  2. The water is put on high heat and brought to a boil.
  3. Lentils are poured into boiling water, the fire is reduced, covered with a lid. Brew until tender.
  4. A few minutes before cooking, add salt.

For cooking you will need:

  • sausage (blood or hunting) 200 g;
  • lentils 150 g (variety of your choice);
  • 1 medium carrot;
  • one medium onion;
  • green bell pepper 1 pc;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • potatoes 1 pc;
  • paprika 1 tbsp.;
  • carbonate 100 g

Preparing dish with lentils as follows:

  1. Soak the lentils for a while (about 40 minutes).
  2. Then put it on the fire and cook the sausage and carbonate together for thirty minutes.
  3. While the lentils are cooking, chop the vegetables into large chunks and sauté them (olive oil is best).
  4. Add stir-fried vegetables to a saucepan with lentils, sausage, and carb.
  5. Now it's the turn of the potatoes. Peel, wash, cut into large cubes and add to the saucepan as well.
  6. Cook until the potatoes are done.
  7. Add paprika, stir. Let it brew for a couple of minutes. The dish is ready.

Lentils with pork

To prepare a dish you need:

  • lentils (any kind) 3 cups;
  • 1 kg of pork pulp (lean);
  • soy sauce 100 g;
  • 2 medium onions;
  • head of garlic;
  • cherry tomatoes 10 pcs;
  • sour cream 2 tablespoons;
  • mustard 2 tablespoons;
  • pepper, salt, herbs to taste. lentejas-chorizo

Cooking takes place as follows:

  1. The first step is to prepare the meat. Wash, dry, sprinkle with garlic, salt, rub with spices. Pour over soy sauce and leave to marinate for thirty minutes.
  2. After the time is up, the meat is placed in the roasting sleeve. The remaining garlic, onions are put there, pour half a glass of water. Then bake until tender, in preheated oven, within an hour and a half.
  3. While the meat is baking, you can start cooking the lentils. Boil it in a little water until tender.
  4. Cut the tomatoes in half and fry a little in a pan.
  5. Remove the finished meat from the oven and cut as you like.
  6. Chop the garlic and onion with a fork or blender. Add baked meat juice, mustard and sour cream to them. This will make the sauce.
  7. Put lentils on a plate, put meat and tomatoes on top. Pour the sauce over everything.
  8. Garnish with herbs and serve. Bon Appetit.

Solyanka with lentils

To prepare a dish you will need:

  • mushrooms 300 g;
  • cabbage 500 g;
  • lentils 200 g;
  • hunting sausages 200 g;
  • 2 medium onions;
  • large red bell pepper 1 pc;
  • 1 medium carrot;
  • a bunch of greens;
  • salt;

Preparation:

  1. Chop the cabbage and sauté with enough oil. Transfer it to a pre-prepared saucepan. It is best to use ceramic.
  2. In the same way as with cabbage, do with the rest of the vegetables. Save and place in a saucepan.
  3. Add lentils to vegetables and pour about two glasses of water into a saucepan. The water should not be higher than the vegetables, but should cover them slightly. Simmer over medium heat for twenty to thirty minutes.
  4. While the vegetables and lentils are stewing, cut the sausages into large pieces.
  5. The greens should also be chopped (coarsely or finely - your choice).
  6. After the time has elapsed, add sausages and herbs to the hodgepodge, if the water has evaporated strongly, do not be afraid to pour in more. Now the hodgepodge is stewed on low heat for another twenty minutes.

Lentil dishes in a slow cooker

To prepare a dish, you will need:

  • colmar 500 g;
  • 1 cup lentils
  • 1 medium onion;
  • 1 medium carrot;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • half of bell pepper (if it is large, small - it means whole, any color);
  • 1 large tomato;
  • salt;
  • vegetable oil.

Cooking takes place as follows:

  1. Boil the squid. Peel, rinse, cut into rings.
  2. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, the tomato on a fine grater, cut the onion into half rings, pepper into strips.
  3. Switch on the cooking mode. Pour some oil into the bowl and fry the vegetables.
  4. Then add the squid to the vegetables and cook for a few more minutes.
  5. Lentils are added to vegetables and squid, all this is poured with one and a half glasses of water. Garlic and salt are added.
  6. On a slow cooker, select the "rice" mode and cook for thirty minutes.

After the time has elapsed, the dish is ready. Can be served at the table.

Soup

To make the soup soup, you will need the following foods:

  • yellow lentils 400 g;
  • potatoes 300 g;
  • carrots 1 pc;
  • vegetable broth 1.5 l;
  • bacon 5 slices;
  • 200 g of doctoral sausage;
  • leek;
  • spice;
  • lavrushka to taste;
  • vegetable oil;
  • salt.

The chowder is prepared as follows:

  1. Cut onions, carrots and potatoes into small cubes.
  2. Turn on the frying mode for fifteen minutes and sauté the vegetables.
  3. Cut the sausage into cubes.
  4. Pour lentils to vegetables and add broth.
  5. Select the "soup" multicooker mode, the time is sixty minutes.
  6. Ten minutes before the end of the program, add spices and lavrushka to the soup.
  7. Lavrushka is removed from the finished soup. And time is given to infuse, about twenty to thirty minutes.

The soup is served to the table, garnished with fried bacon and onions. Bon Appetit.
