Croutons have been known since ancient times. They can be made from different types of bread, they can be sweet, salty, savory. Can be used as an independent meal, snack, or ingredient for soups or salads. Croutons can be served with a wide variety of ingredients - fish, mushrooms, jam, fresh fruits and berries, cheese.

Milk croutons

What is needed:

  • chicken egg;
  • 150 ml milk;
  • a large spoon of granulated sugar;
  • a little vegetable oil;
  • white bread.

How to cook:

  1. In a deep bowl, combine the egg and granulated sugar.
  2. While stirring, gradually pour in the milk.
  3. Cut the bread into small slices.
  4. Pour oil into a frying pan and heat well.
  5. Dip each piece into the milk mixture on both sides, soak well and place in a frying pan.
  6. Cook on all sides until golden brown.
  7. Serve hot with jam, condensed milk, sour cream or chocolate spread.

Kefir croutons

What you will need:

  • 250 ml kefir;
  • loaf;
  • chicken egg;
  • 1.5 spoons of granulated sugar;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • a bag of vanilla sugar.

How to do:

  1. Mix all ingredients into a homogeneous mass.
  2. Cut the bread into slices.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and, dipping the pieces in the kefir mixture, fry the croutons on all sides until cooked.

  • half a loaf of black bread;
  • salt to taste;

How to cook:

  3. Heat the oil and fry each slice in it until crispy.

  • garlic to taste.

How to cook:

  1. Cut the loaf into slices and fry in a small amount of sunflower oil in a hot frying pan.
  2. Peel the garlic and crush it in a garlic press. Mix with salt and half a spoon of vegetable oil.
  3. Rub each slice with garlic mixture and sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs.

Sweet croutons for breakfast

What is needed:

  • half a glass of milk;
  • chicken egg;
  • spoon of powdered sugar;
  • loaf or white bread;
  • a couple of apples;
  • half a spoon of ground cinnamon;
  • a couple of tablespoons of butter;
  • a quarter glass of brown sugar.

How to cook:

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  2. Peel the apples and cut into cubes. Add to the saucepan along with the cinnamon and sugar.
  3. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, put in a cup.
  4. Cut the loaf into pieces at least 2.5 cm thick. Make a cut in each slice that looks like a pocket.
  5. Place apple filling into the slits.
  6. In a deep plate, mix milk, a little vanilla sugar and a chicken egg.
  7. Dip the pieces on both sides in milk and fry for at least a couple of minutes on all sides.
  8. Sprinkle the finished dish with powdered sugar and serve hot.

What is needed:

  • loaf;
  • chicken egg;
  • 110 ml milk;
  • ham;
  • hard cheese;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • fresh greens.

How to cook:

  1. Cut the ham into small cubes and fry in a frying pan in a small amount of vegetable oil. Place on a plate.
  2. Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Combine with fried ham. Send chopped herbs there, you can add a little garlic.
  3. In a bowl, mix egg, milk and salt.
  4. Cut the loaf into thick slices, make a cut in each. Place the sausage and cheese filling into the pocket.
  5. Dip each crouton into the egg mixture and fry on both sides in oil.

Appetizer for the holiday table

What is needed:

  • white or black bread;
  • 200 g champignons;
  • 170 g hard cheese;
  • small onion;
  • 100 ml cream;
  • pepper, salt;
  • 3-4 small tomatoes and fresh herbs.

How to cook:

  1. Wash the mushrooms and chop finely. Fry in sunflower oil along with salt and black pepper.
  2. Add chopped onion, cook for a couple more minutes.
  3. Grate the cheese, add about 2/3 of it to the mushrooms and pour in cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Cut the loaf into pieces, and divide each piece in half.
  5. Line a baking sheet with paper and place the slices on it. Place mushroom mixture on each and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  6. Place in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 200 degrees.
  7. Decorate with tomato slices and fresh herbs.
