Brushes
This option is best suited for working with liquid textures. Use synthetic bristle brushes - they are the most economical because they do not absorb too much cream.
Today you can find them in a wide variety of sizes and shapes: wide and narrow, with beveled and smooth edges, with a pointed cut, curved, oval.
Professional makeup artists, as a rule, have a whole range of different brushes in their arsenal. However, to do makeup at home, one or two are enough, which will be convenient for you to use. Beginners should choose the “classic model”, which has a sharp tip.
Sponges
Sponges are very versatile - they are convenient for blending foundations of any consistency: liquid, thick, viscous, as well as mousses.
They, like brushes, have different shapes and sizes: round, square, triangular, flat and volumetric. The easiest to use is a sponge, which looks like an egg. With its help, even a non-professional can get an even complexion.
If you apply the cream with a dry instrument, you will get a denser tone that will help hide existing skin imperfections. If your goal natural makeup with a minimum of cosmetics, then wet the sponge with water before use. Thanks to this, the “foundation” will lie in a thin layer.
Applying foundation by hand
If you don’t have special tools on hand, it doesn’t matter, you can apply foundation with your fingertips. By the way, this technique is used by many makeup artists.
From the warmth of your hands, the product heats up and fits better on the surface of the skin, and is also perfectly distributed on the “flaky” areas of the face. Thanks to this little trick, you get a light makeup in the “nude” style.
How to apply foundation on your face
It’s quite easy to give your face a flawless look using foundation; you just need to do everything according to the rules and know a few simple secrets:
- The first step is to clean and moisturize facial skin. To do this, you need to wipe it with a cotton pad moistened with tonic, very carefully, without stretching the skin. And then apply moisturizer and wait until it is completely absorbed.
- If you need to hide any imperfections, use a concealer first. Green will cope with redness, and purple will deal with excessive pigmentation.
- Squeeze a little cream onto the outside of your palm to warm it up, and from there, apply it onto a brush or sponge, or with your fingertips.
- Distribute it pointwise over the surface of the face in the following order: forehead-cheekbones-nose- chin.
- Start shading the left “marks” starting from the frontal part and gradually moving down (following the arrows, as in the picture). It is very important to do this carefully, especially paying attention to the T-zone, hairline and transition to the neck.
Tip: to highlight or, conversely, hide some features of your facial features, you can mix two shades of cream: dark (visually reduces) and light (visually enlarges).
