What to do if the child does not want to study
Often, the solution to all problems lies on the surface and you just need to understand the reason for the child's reluctance to learn.
- Does not work. Each person has individual abilities. If your child dreams of becoming a singer or actor, and he has to attend school with a mathematical bias, then it is not surprising that he has no desire to study. The solution in this case is this: try to determine the career guidance of your treasure, inclinations and send them in the right direction. It happens that the school curriculum is given with difficulty due to a lack of mental abilities. In this case, think about specialized training facilities or classrooms.
- Constant control. Any student needs some time to rest. When you come home, try not to mention school and homework for a couple of hours. Fatigue and lack of concentration make it difficult to focus on school assignments.
- Lack of control. In the case when parents work a lot and do not pay enough attention to their child, the study will be on the conscience of the child himself. If you do not instill the habit of fulfilling his duties and a sense of responsibility, then the study will recede into the background for him. Therefore, take care of this before sending your toddler to school.
- Interpersonal relationships at school. Parents know about life at school only from the words of the child himself and the teachers. The child may not speak, and the teachers are not always attentive. The reluctance to learn may be due to the fact that the child does not develop relationships with peers or teachers. Have a heart-to-heart talk with your child, let him trust and open up to you as a friend.
- In reality, there can be many reasons for unwillingness to learn:
- Unfavorable relationships within the family. Family conflicts negatively affect the development of the child, he can completely withdraw into himself and lose interest in everything.
- Bad Company. If your child is friends with children who prefer other activities to study, then most likely their attitude is transmitted to everyone else in the company.
- Complexes. This is especially true of appearance. Fear of ridicule and bullying will lead to reluctance to respond in class and generally go to school.
- Addiction. It can be from anything: from a computer, from walking, from social networks.
Finding the reason for not wanting to learn means half solving the problem. Your task is to help your child cope with difficulties.
How to get your child to learn
If your child does not want to learn, forcing him to do it by force is not the best solution. Be patient and understanding. Maintain confidential relations with the child, find out his intentions and desires, try not to criticize them, even if they seem not rational to you.
The question itself is not formulated correctly. Schoolchildren need to be motivated correctly. If you succeed, you can easily avoid problems and quarrels with your child.
How to interest a child
Having identified the reason for the reluctance to learn, analyze the current situation. Think about how you can help the child.
- Show respect. Remember yourself in school, could you easily cope with the school curriculum? Find out what your child would really like, respect his personality and interests.
- Examples to follow. Most toddlers and teens have idols they would like to be like. Use role models, because surely in their biography there is something to motivate your child.
- Learn together. Set an example of the thirst for knowledge. Attend courses, and when you come home, be sure to tell about what you have learned and what you have learned. This can serve as an incentive to develop for your child as well.
- Show interest. Ask your child about subjects that are difficult for him. The main thing is to do it sincerely, children always feel deception.
- Don't punish. Let the punishments serve as a kind of motivation, do not overdo it, because they, in turn, can speak negatively on the psyche, especially if it is psychological pressure.
Remember, the best method of influence can be selected based on the nature and inclinations of your child. Try to choose the right motivation, be persistent, but do not forget about love and understanding.
