We need:
- satin, silk or any other non-transparent fabric;
- pin;
- elastic for a belt;
- sewing machine, safety pins;
- iron, chalk or a bar of soap.
The size of the main fabric should be 4 times the length of the skirt. And the length of the frill is 2 times the hem of the finished product.
Pattern for a gypsy skirt
- Take your measurements: hips, waist and skirt length.
- With the help of measurements, you need to build a pattern - two semicircles. It is more convenient if it is on full-size paper. Old newspapers can be used.
- The pattern can be based on such a skirt-sun by simply making it longer.
- With chalk, transfer the pattern to the fabric, pinning it with safety pins.
- We cut out two pieces of the skirt from the fabric, adding 2 cm of seam allowances.
- With both skirt pieces folded facing each other, sew the side seams on a sewing machine.

- Measure the length of the resulting hem of your skirt.

- Sew the ruffle side seams from the inside out.
- Gather it up and sew to the hem of your skirt.
- Fold the top of the skirt inward and sew, leaving a small hole.
- Use a safety pin to insert the elastic into the belt.
- Iron all seams carefully with an iron.
