Let's start with the simplest, straight skirt, and if you want to add volume to it, you can decorate. For example, ruffles purchased at a craft store or crocheted yourself (there is a suitable diagram at the end of the article).
For a skirt for a three-year-old girl you will need:
- 400 m of acrylic yarn;
- knitting needles No. 3;
- elastic band for the belt.
How to knit a children's skirt: patterns
We will knit according to this pattern; we recommend that you draw it in full size and check the dimensions as you work.
We start knitting from the waistband of the skirt, where we will insert an elastic band at the end. We cast on 98 stitches on the knitting needles, 2 of which are edge stitches. We knit 3 cm with a double elastic band in rows:
- alternate 1 purl and 1 knit stitch;
- remove the front loops and knit the purl loops;
- repeat this report from row 2 to a height of 3 cm.

We will knit according to this pattern, measure the dimensions and make it in full size.
- Cast on 160 chain stitches and close the chain into a ring. Knit according to pattern No. 1, repeating the fourth row 9 times.
- Tie the top frill according to pattern No. 2. Cut the thread.
- Attach a thread under the frill and knit five rows according to pattern No. 3.
- Knit the frill according to pattern No. 2.
- Repeat steps 2-4 to the desired length - approximately 3 times.
If you want to get a fluffy skirt, you can sew a tulle or mesh lining for it, and turn the knitted skirt into a princess skirt.
