First of all, the iron is bought for hair straightening. The principle of its operation is simple - during exposure to heat, excess moisture evaporates from the hair, and they become straight.

- Metal. Metal irons are perhaps the worst material of all. Such models have long been considered obsolete. Metal affects the hair quite roughly, so it is easy to damage it.

It makes it possible to select the heating temperature, which is determined taking into account the type of your hair: for example, for thin, 160 degrees is enough, but if the hair is thick and curly, a temperature of 180-200 degrees is required.
Also, when choosing, the shape and width of the heating surface and the presence of additional functions (for example, the effect of ionization) are taken into account.

There are many models in stores, from budget to premium, but, first of all, you need to consider the following parameters:
- Desired nozzle diameter. Choose a curling iron depending on what you want - small curls or large curls. There are also curling irons with a set of nozzles on sale.
- Plate coating. Teflon is the cheapest, but it wears out over time. Therefore, sometimes it makes sense to overpay and choose a curling iron with a ceramic or tourmaline coating, which will last much longer.
- The presence of several modes and functions of temperature control.
